Carl Reiner checking in for House's season finale

by Allison Waldman, posted Mar 31st 2009 9:03AM
carl reiner ocean'sI adore Carl Reiner. There. I said it. What are you going to do about it? No, seriously, if there's another actor/writer/director/producer in show business who's made me laugh more than Mr. Reiner, I can't think of him/her right now. He's been one of Hollywood's prime time jewels for six decades. So, the news that Carl Reiner is guesting on the House season finale makes me very, very happy.

According to the House powers that be, Mr. Reiner will be a clinic patient at Princeton Plainsboro, and his interaction is slated to be with Dr. Cuddy. Good for Lisa Edelstein!

Be our guest: Kate Walsh returning to Grey's

by Allison Waldman, posted Mar 1st 2008 11:05AM
Kate Grey'sA familiar face will be popping up at Seattle Grace before Grey's Anatomy goes on hiatus at the end of the season. Kate Walsh, a.k.a. Addison Montgomery, M.D., will return to the medical drama when her character makes a visit to the Emerald City. It'll be for just one episode, though. ABC has already picked up Kate's spin-off series, Private Practice, for the fall.

Executive producer/writer Shonda Rhimes confirmed that Kate Walsh will return to Grey's Anatomy for a guest bit this spring, but a definite date has not been pinned down. Five new episodes of GA are set to air starting April 24.

Witch Doctor coming to SciFi

ben edlundThe networks have announced there upcoming shows at the recent Television Critics Press Tour, and the SciFi Channel is no different. There's a few science fiction programs I dig, but not enough to really call myself a science fiction fan. However, one show did jump out at me, and that's Witch Doctor, mostly because it was created by Ben Edlund, creator of The Tick. Defined as a "dramedy," the show will focus on David, a sick man who finds normal Western medicine cannot cure him. This leads him to a supernatural doctor and "the supernatural world that exists unseen all around us." David ends up with those same powers and takes over the magical clinic. Given Edlund's contributions to shows like Angel and Venture Bros., this could be pretty cool.
