The 'Don't Touch My Junk' Guy Speaks Out: Passengers Are Treated 'Like Criminals' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Nov 16th 2010 2:35AM
The 'Don't Touch My Junk' Guy Speaks Out: Passengers Are Treated 'Like Criminals'John Tyner is an Internet sensation -- and he's become a bit of a folk hero. This weekend, the 31-year-old was ejected from a San Diego airport after refusing to submit to a full-body scan. Security officials then wanted to do a "pat-down" -- a frisking procedure that involves a "groin check." Next, Tyner made this now-famous reply: "If you touch my junk, I'll have you arrested."

Instead, Tyner was nearly arrested. He was removed from the airport by security, and he now faces a potential lawsuit and $10,000 fine. On 'CNN Newsroom' (daily, 3PM ET on CNN), John discussed the issue of terrorism and the point that he was trying to make.

Tyler left his cell phone on during the TSA encounter, recording audio of the confrontation. The tape features Tyner saying to an official: "I don't understand how a sexual assault can be made a condition of my flying." The TSA agent insisted on a pat-down, saying it was not assault. "It would be if you weren't the government," John replied.

Say hello to a mini Anderson Cooper

by Bob Sassone, posted Dec 5th 2006 1:04PM

Anderson CooperTV Newser (or maybe a reader of the site) found this promotional site for CNN's Anderson Cooper 360. It has all the usual stuff you'd find on such a site: a bio of the host, video, behind the scenes info, etc. But this one is hosted by a talking, mini Anderson Cooper himself!

Cooper walks into the right side of the screen and tells you about the show, and when you click the various categories he gives you a little introduction to what your'e about to see. If you click on "About Anderson" he explains how he's bored of talking about himself. If you click on "Behind AC360," he says they've edited out all the yelling and screaming that goes on behind the scenes of the show. You can even buy Anderson Cooper shirts and hats and pens! Unfortunately, he doesn't have anything funny to say about this, the link just goes to the Turner Networks store.

You can even find out what Cooper has on his iPod. He seems to like Elvis Costello, Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, Johnny Cash, Sugar, and The Hives.
