Fox pulls Bones episode because of Virginia Tech massacre
by Anna Johns, posted Apr 17th 2007 6:31PM
It never fails. Some major news event rattles this country, or the world, and an entertainment program coincidentally has a storyline that is just a little too close to the actual news. Case in point: this week, Fox is replacing a new episode of Bones with a repeat. The new episode was about human remains found on a college campus. Not much more is known about the plot of the episode, but it was apparently enough to make execs think of yesterday's Virginia Tech shooting rampage that left 33 people dead.Sometimes it seems like entertainment divisions are being too sensitive to the American psyche, but I think it's better to err on the side of caution. Sadly, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Law & Order took a stab at the university shooting storyline next season as one of their "ripped from the headlines" episodes.
