Oh those pesky creators over at 'Chuck.' They wanted you to think this week's episode was about Chuck's crazy bachelor party and all of the antics of Morgan, Casey, Jeffster and Big Mike. But then they turned it around and gave us an international adventure, an exploding house and the revelation of who Agent X was.

Jack Burton (Gary Cole) goes low tech in proposing a scam to Morgan, Chuck and Sarah.['Chuck' - 'Chuck Versus the Wedding Planner']

As the Bartowski-Walker wedding draws closer, we're beginning to see more episodes of 'Chuck' dealing with preparations for the big event.

Tonight was one of those, as the couple put the finishing touches on their lavish wedding. This included paying a sum of $26,230 to their wedding coordinator, who was highly recommended by folks on the Internet.

Unfortunately, the wedding planner turned out to be a con artist, which developed into a two-fold problem for the couple. Not only did Chuck and Sarah lose all their money, but Sarah discovered she lost something else: her ability to detect a con. Being the daughter of a successful con man, this was something to be concerned about.

'Bones' Season 6, Episode 18 Recap

Pictures: Dead myth-busting TV host. Killed by man or by a mystical creature?['Bones' - 'The Truth in the Myth']

When a guest writer comes along to pen an episode of a long-running series, there are bound to be concerns. Has he or she seen the show before? Do they have a handle on the characters and their interactions? Can they follow the format with their own unique style?

Luckily, viewers of 'Bones' didn't have to worry much since the guest writer was John Francis Daley, known to us as Doctor Lance Sweets. The result was a fast-paced episode with some amusing moments, solid detecting, and a welcome avoidance from the romantic struggles of Booth and Bones.

Wayne Knight's character irks Seeley Booth on this week's episode of 'Bones.'['Bones' - 'The Babe in the Bar']

In last week's episode of 'Bones' bakers were outraged when Hodgins used a cannoli to display what a certain bone-eating snot flower did to its victims. This week the show took millions of fans off of candy bars for the foreseeable future after the creamy center of a giant chocolate bar was actually the oozing remains of a dead body. That, and Hodgins' explanation of how many rodent and insect parts could be included in a normal-sized candy bar.

Is the underlying goal of the producers and writers of 'Bones' to have us stop eating sweets? What's next: finger bones found in a piece of Adam's Peanut Butter Cup Fudge Ripple from The Cheesecake Factory? Crushed pelvic bone found in a pint of Chunky Monkey? Where will it all end?

Penn & Teller: Magicians by night, detectives by day?

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 24th 2009 4:26PM
Penn & Teller: Bullshit!Las Vegas magicians and Bullshit! hosts Penn & Teller have inked a deal with ABC for an hour dramedy based on their real lives. To make it a little more interesting, they've added a fictional crime-solving element. Playing essentially themselves, Penn & Teller in the show will have a Las Vegas magician act at night. But during the day, they're "reluctant" detectives, solving crimes and saving lives.

One of the big questions I have is if Teller will talk. I suspect that he won't, even though we all know he can. He doesn't during their work together because it creates more humor that way with Penn blabbing on and on. If this is supposed to be loosely based on their real lives, though, wouldn't he talk once the stage show ends?

However, since this is still a Penn & Teller "show," I'm sure he'll stay silent. There's a lot of sight gags they can do with a silent Teller and a chatty Penn. I've enjoyed the guest stints they've had on other shows, and think they're one of the most entertaining acts in the world, so I'm intrigued.
