If you look at the picture of Orel Hershiser on the right, you might think he's a pretty unimposing guy. However, the former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher is something of an Einstein when it comes to playing the game of baseball. Therefore, it makes perfect sense and is a brilliant move that he will be joining ESPN's 'Sunday Night Baseball' broadcast as an analyst.

Hershiser should have been put in the booth as soon as he was signed with ESPN, but all good things in their time. Now the former MVP, Cy Young award winner and World Series champ will be lending his expertise to the broadcast anchored by Jon Miller, the play by play guy, and former Cincinnati Reds star Joe Morgan as the lead analyst.

Things are not going well for Notre Dame head football coach Charlie Weis. He's in the midst of a rough season, not likely to make a bowl game, and rumors are rampant that he will be fired after a five-year-term that has not brought the university a national championship. The number one name on the lips of everyone to replace Weis is ESPN analyst, and Super Bowl-winning head coach, Jon Gruden. However, this morning ESPN locked up Gruden with an extension on his current contract which expands his responsibilities as an ESPN talking head.

In addition to sticking with the ESPN Monday Night Football color commentary role -- in which he's pretty much been Mr. Enthusiasm -- Gruden will be working the NFL Draft, the Pro Bowl, Super Bowl week, and on radio the Rose Bowl and the BCS game. Basically, if Gruden is talking football, he's doing it on ESPN air.

Will Warren Sapp get that slot on Dancing with the Stars like he predicted? We won't know till next Monday when ABC makes the live announcement on Good Morning America.

However, the former defensive lineman for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders has landed a new TV job. Sapp is joining Inside the NFL on Showtime, taking a seat beside fellow former NFL players Cris Collinsworth and Phil Simms, as well as CBS broadcaster James Brown.

As a player, Sapp was a force to be reckoned with, albeit as a run stopper in the middle of the line. He also has a reputation for being savvy and a big time talker, a guy who has an opinion about everything and anything. Hmm...smart and loud. That will probably make him a real asset on Inside the NFL. In fact, he might have some of NBA commentator Charles Barkley's charismatic appeal.
