USA Sets Return Dates for 'White Collar,' 'Royal Pains,' Series Premiere Date for 'Common Law'

white collar return date USA has released its 2012 mid-season schedule, which means that 'White Collar' fans, your wait to find out what happens to Elizabeth Burke is almost over.

'White Collar' returns to the network to continue Season 3 on Tues., Jan. 17. And don't worry 'Collar' fans, Neal Caffrey and his fancy suits will definitely be back for Season 4. Meanwhile, 'Royal Pains' will continue its own third season on Wed., Jan. 18. Both shows will air at the 10PM ET time slot.

The network will also premiere its new buddy cop dramedy, 'Common Law,' on Thurs., Jan. 26. The series stars Michael Ealy and Warren Kole as a pair of bickering LAPD detective partners who are ordered into couples therapy by their boss.

Cinematographer Dennis Hall Dies on Set of USA's New Show

Dennis Hall DiesCinematographer Dennis Hall died Thurs., Oct. 20, while shooting the new USA Network series, 'Common Law.' He was 54.

Hall was in New Orleans with the crew filming when he suffered a heart attack in his hotel. His roommate, a camera operator, called the paramedics. They were unable to revive Hall.

"He could walk into a room that was deathly quiet or filled with negative energy and immediately liven everything up," cinematographer John C. Flinn III, who took Hall with him as his assistant on the 1980s TV shows 'Magnum, P.I.' and 'Jake and the Fatman,' told the Hollywood Reporter. "He was a great first assistant, a great cameraman and a great cinematographer. I'm so proud of him."

USA Network Orders 'Common Law' to Series, Pia Toscano Signs Record Deal & More TV News

Michael EalyUSA Network has picked up 'Common Law,' a new buddy cop series starring 'The Good Wife' veteran Michael Ealy.

The new hourlong series will have 11 episodes. 'Common Law' stars Ealy as Travis Marks, partner to Wes Mitchell (Warren Kole), two police officers on the homicide team at the Los Angeles Police Department. In true USA Network format, these two partners have issues, and in effort to solve them, their captain sends the two to couples counseling.

Cormac and Marianne Wibberley of 'National Treasure' fame will serve as executive producers with Jon Turteltaub ('Jericho') and Craig Sweeny ('Medium').

"When CBS Television Studios sent us the script of Common Law, we immediately fell in love with the writing, the characters and the premise," USA co-presidents Jeff Wachtel and Chris McCumber said in statement. "We're very lucky to have the Wibberleys, Jon and Craig guiding the process on this show; and with Michael and Warren, we have two stars who bring out the best in each other."

Kristen Johnston, Donald Faison Get TV Land Roles, Larry Hagman Still in 'Dallas' Talks and More

Kristen JohnstonTV Land has scooped up TV veterans Kristen Johnston, Donald Faison and Christine Taylor for new pilots.

According to Deadline Hollywood, Johnston will play the sexy female divorce attorney/landlord in Mark Reisman's comedy formerly known as 'Ex Men.' The sitcom revolves around three recently divorced men who move into Johnston's character's apartment building. 'Scrubs' star Donald Faison has been cast as one of the divorcés.

Christine Taylor has been cast in Terri Minsky's workplace sitcom set in a cola factory. Taylor will play the new boss, a New Yorker who is brought to Oregon to head the company, but nobody wants her there.

In other casting news ...

'Angel' and 'Dollhouse' veteran Amy Acker has landed a role on USA Network's 'Common Law.' The cop dramedy stars Michael Ealy and Warren Kole as partners who can't stop bickering, so their captain sends them to couples therapy. Acker will play their therapist. So much for our hopes of her being Jessica Jones in ABC's 'AKA Jessica Jones.' [Deadline Hollywood]

Mark Pellegrino has been cast on 'Breakout Kings.' The 'Lost' alumnus will play Virgil Downing, an infamous assassin. [TVLine]

Larry Hagman is still in talks for the 'Dallas' reboot. Despite earlier reports that negotiations had halted, Hagman is reportedly still in talks to reprise his J.R. Ewing role on the new TNT series. [Entertainment Weekly]

USA NetworkYou have to hand it to the USA Network -- it knows its niche and it knows it well, as evident today by its latest pilot order.

According to Deadline Hollywood, the network has said yes to 'Common Law' about LAPD partners Wes Mitchell and Travis Marks who are forced to attend couples therapy in an attempt to save their professional relationship.

The two characters are described as completely different: Wes is a former lawyer with a passion for cars, gardening and his ex-wife, while Travis is popular with the ladies and did time in juvie.
