Danny Pudi Might Not Be the Only 'Community' Star on Tonight's 'Chuck'

by AOL TV Staff, posted Dec 9th 2011 4:15PM
Alison Brie, Yvette Nicole Brown, Joel McHale & Gillian Jacobs, 'Community'We love it when geek worlds collide, so the thought of seeing 'Community' star Danny Pudi (Abed!) on tonight's 'Chuck' has us all excited.

But rumor has it Pudi isn't the only member of the Greendale study group stopping by the Buy More. Which other Human Being might we see hanging around in the background of 'Chuck vs. the Hack Off'?

A few hints ...

'Community': Abed Convinces Troy to Join Glee With a Rap (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 9th 2011 1:00AM
'Community' - 'Regional Holiday Music'While NBC continues to insist that the absence of 'Community' (Thu., 8PM ET on NBC) from its 2012 midseason schedule does not mean the show has been cancelled, many fans still feel that this episode may be their last chance to rally support for the show. (Save Greendale!) To make that task simpler, the 'Community' gang riffed on one of television's most popular and acclaimed shows.

When members of the Greendale Glee Club found itself suffering simultaneous nervous breakdowns, director Taran Killam ('Saturday Night Live') called on the study group to fill in -- except for Britta. When they rejected him, he realized he only had to turn one and then that person would do the work for him.

'Community' May Be Just a Figment of Joel McHale's Imagination (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 9th 2011 12:00AM
'Community' cast - 'The Soup'With 'Community' airing its final scheduled episode this week (Save Greendale!), the cast stopped by to visit Joel McHale on 'The Soup' (Wed., 10PM ET on E!) with some startling news. When McHale asked why Chevy Chase wasn't with them, Ken Jeong told him, "There is no Chevy. He's a figment of your imagination."

Eventually, after Adam Scott and Nick Kroll joined them on set, it was revealed that not only were the pair of them also figments of his imagination, but so was the entire cast. Mankini explained: "This is just a delusion you created so you wouldn't have to face the face that you only work at E!"

Alison Brie chimed in, "If 'Community' were real, don't you think you would have seen a commercial for it on NBC?"

The 'Community' Cast Previews Their Gleeful Christmas Extravaganza Episode

by Maggie Furlong, posted Dec 8th 2011 10:00AM
Last year's 'Community' Christmas episode ranks at the top of my list of favorite holiday-themed TV episodes ever. So how will this year's stack up?

Well there's no funny clay figurines or stop-motion animation, but that's not to say it won't be as magical or uncontrollable as Abed's adventure last season. I mean, we already know there will be a rap video. In 'Regional Holiday Music' (Thurs., Dec. 8, 8PM ET on NBC), the Greendale glee club is sidelined, so the study group has to step up to sing in their place.

I caught up with Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Donald Glover and Gillian Jacobs on the 'Community' set to hear more about their song-and-dance-filled holiday celebration, Troy and Abed's sweet rap, why this episode will be particularly gif-worthy and the "very awesome character" that 'Saturday Night Live' funnyman Taran Killam is playing.

'Community' Cast Says Goodbye ... For Now (VIDEO)

by Chris Harnick, posted Dec 7th 2011 3:30PM
CommunityWe're going to miss 'Community.' Yes, NBC has said it will be back, "later," but that doesn't take the sting away.

In addition to the next new episode (Thurs., Dec. 8, 8PM ET on NBC) the cast teamed with College Humor for a sort of "Goodbye ... for now" video.

Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) says Greendale is closing down for a bit because of an attendance problem *cough*Nielsen families*cough* and a grease fire.

"But while we're away, we hope you won't forget all the great things Greendale has to offer," Dean Pelton says in the video.

What are these "great things"? Find out in the video below.

Hooray! 'Community' Comes To Hulu Plus

by Crystal Bell, posted Dec 2nd 2011 2:30PM
community huluIt's been a rough few weeks for 'Community' fans. After being left off NBC's midseason schedule, the fate of the quirky comedy is still uncertain. There have been multiple campaigns to save the show -- and even AOL TV's own Mo Ryan sent an open letter to NBC to save the show -- but there's still been no word on 'Community's' return to the Thursday night comedy block.

So to help 'Community' fans pass the time with Jess and the study group, Hulu Plus will exclusively offer all three seasons of the cult classic, starting today, which means you can catch all the jokes and pop culture savviness from the beginning.

Hulu Plus subscribers will have next-day access to the current season of 'Community,' as well as the entire back library of Seasons 1 and 2. In other 'Community' news, despite its uncertain future, after its most recent episode, the series did inch up in total viewers and drew a 1.7 rating in the demo.

Foosball Divides and Unites Jeff and Shirley on 'Community' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 2nd 2011 12:30AM
'Community' - 'Foosball and Nocturnal Vigilantism'With only two episodes left before NBC puts it on the shelf until some undetermined time in the future, 'Community' (Thu., 8PM ET on NBC) pulled out all the stops with a brilliant episode that continued their ongoing exploration this season of the group dynamics.

This time, the pairing of Jeff and Shirley bore some truly tender fruit. The two have never really been close, mainly because of ideological differences. Through the power of foosball, and Jeff's super-competitive nature, we learned that not only is Shirley a master of the game, but she and Jeff have a shared history.

We're a sucker for homages, so these fan-made 'Community' credits done like the 'Parks and Recreation' starting is just the thing to make us forget about NBC shelving 'Community.' Just kidding, we're still upset about that.

'Community' Wins TV Guide Magazine Fan Favorite Poll

by Chris Harnick, posted Nov 28th 2011 12:45PM
Community Fan Favorite'Community,' the cult-hit series NBC pulled from its midseason schedule without any explanation, has won TV Guide Magazine's annual Fan Favorite Poll. How 'bout them apples?

Roughly 300,000 people voted on TV Guide Magazine's Facebook, and 'Community' bested many cult-hit shows including 'Chuck' and 'The Vampire Diaries.' The NBC series will be honored with three different covers for the Dec. 5 issue. The 'Community' issue hits newsstands Dec. 1.

"Because we don't get nominated for awards, this is our fans' outlet to tell us that they care," 'Community' star Gillian Jacobs said in a statement. "They may not see us win Emmys or SAG Awards, but they do have the power in something like this to vote, and you see a lot of people care about our show."

Yvette Nicole Brown: Movement to Save 'Community' Has Friend at NBC

Yvette Nicole Brown Save CommunityThe "Save 'Community'" movement has friends in high places at NBC, according to series star Yvette Nicole Brown.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Brown said an executive -- Edwin Chung, the senior vice president of primetime at NBC -- came to a 'Community' table read wearing his homemade T-shirt two days after NBC announced its plans to shelve the series.

"This is someone who's kind of in the process with us and knows that it's not ideal that we're not on the air," she said.

'Up All Night' Stays Up Longer With 2 Additional Episodes

by Laura Prudom, posted Nov 21st 2011 6:15PM
Up All NightIt looks like NBC is far more enthusiastic about 'Up All Night' than viewers are. The Peacock network has ordered two more episodes of the freshman comedy, bringing its total number up to 24 for the season, Deadline reports.

The Will Arnett/Christina Applegate comedy has been a modest performer for NBC (a recent episode scored 4.8 million viewers and a 1.9 in the adults 18-49 demo) but compared to the rest of NBC's floundering schedule, consistency in the ratings is probably an attractive prospect right now.

The move is the latest vote of confidence for the show, which is being moved from Wednesdays at 8.30PM ET -- where it currently goes up against 'X Factor,' 'Survivor' and 'Suburgatory' -- to 9.30PM on Thursdays, where it will have 'The Office' as a lead-in, starting Jan. 12.

He performed a song from his new 'Childish Gambino' rap album on 'Conan,' and tonight his hour-long stand-up special 'Donald Glover: Weirdo' premieres on Comedy Central at 11PM ET.

Check out some preview clips of the special after the jump, which feature Glover joking about writing raps on his iPhone, why he always wears protection and the one white guy who can get away with using the N-word.

'Community' Ratings: Did the Social Media Campaigns Work?

by Laura Prudom, posted Nov 18th 2011 1:45PM
CommunityFor four days now, we've found ourselves living in the darkest timeline, following the news that NBC has yet to find a place for 'Community' on their midseason schedule. Though the Peacock insists that the cult comedy will return at some point, fans have taken to social media to register their disapproval of the scheduling snub, starting petitions and defacing their avatars with evil goatees. Even AOL TV's resident 'Community' skeptic, Mo Ryan, is on the "Save Community" bandwagon (read her open letter to NBC here).

But did all of the righteous indignation result in a ratings bump for the perennially on-the-bubble show when it aired another hilarious episode last night?

Kind of ...
