Win a 32-inch LCD HDTV on TV Squad's second birthday!
by Keith McDuffee, posted Mar 12th 2007 9:00AM

That's right -- it's TV Squad's second birthday already. Well, actually it was this past Saturday, but who's counting? In honor of this festive occasion, we thought it'd be a fitting time to not only present another contest to our readers, but one with a kick-ass prize. And the kicker: all you need to do is post a comment below telling us what your favorite show on TV is!
Now for the more important business at hand: the prize. How does a Samsung LNS3241D 32" Wide LCD HDTV with Integrated ATSC Tuner suit you? I've got a similar TV at my own home, and the 3000:1 contrast ratio is pretty spectacular.
Some basic rules and clarifications:
- To enter, leave a confirmed comment below stating what your favorite show is. What show you mention makes absolutely no difference, as long as it's a real one on TV.
- The comment must be left before March 16, 2007 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
- You can only enter once.
- The winning entry will be chosen completely at random.
And now we present you with the legalities of the contest. (Read them. Please.)
Contest results: It's Kidnapped in 13!
by Keith McDuffee, posted Oct 6th 2006 2:41PM
The first new show fall show to take a tumble into canceldom has been announced: Kidnapped is officially done and will complete with a total airing of 13 episodes. So, in looking at all the entries, the person who chose Kidnapped as the first show to be canceled with the closest guess to the number of episodes (13) is ...
erroneous_nick, with Kidnapped in 7 episodes!
And was only the third entry in the contest -- nice call.
Congrats to you, Nick! Or is it erroneous? Well whatever it is, congratulations -- we'll get in touch with you shortly regarding where to send your new HD PVR system from SnapStream!
(UPDATE: Several folks have pointed out that they believe Smith to be the true canceled show here. After some discussion within the 'Squad and an analysis of the rules stated in the contest, our decision stands.)
Mark Burnett's Gold Rush debuts on AOL
by Michael Canfield, posted Sep 13th 2006 6:59PM
Gold Rush is live. It's an interactive online game, styled like reality TV, brought to you by AOL and Survivor/The introductory video on the site has some of the same elements that make up the opening segments of any of Burnett's trademark shows. There are spinning graphics, a fleet of thirteen black SUV's in a secret underground location ready to carry the gold to its secret destinations, a reality-TV hosty-type guy, and -- just to get you in the mood -- a spectacular musical theme reminiscent of The Amazing Race. There's lots poke around the site and see. I barely scratched the surface.
If any of you here happens to win a chunk of the gold, don't forget your friends at TV Squad. At least post a comment here to gloat.
