'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Could Bring Peace to the Middle East
by Alex Moaba, posted Nov 30th 2011 4:30PM
Larry David has never been accused of being a diplomat: 'social assassin' is a far more appropriate way of describing the 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' creator's people skills. But now, at least if constitutional lawyer Alan Dershowitz has anything to say about, an episode of 'Curb' might help bring peace to the Middle East.Dershowitz recently told The Columbia Current that he sent a copy of 'Curb''s 'Palestinian Chicken' episode to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and suggested that he watch it with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. "Maybe if they both get a good laugh, they can begin a negotiating process," Dershowitz told the Current.
Cheryl Hines and Chelsea Handler Talk 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Porn (VIDEO)

If you're Cheryl Hines and someone sends you pornography based on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm,' you're going to have to check it out. On 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!), she admitted that she did take a peek at it.If for nothing else, you'd want to know what the guy picked to play a porn version of Larry David looks like. She agreed that it was a very weird thing to see.
"It makes sense with my character," she said of her own porn counterpart with a coy smile.
Michael J. Fox Is a Formidable Opponent on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Finale (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 12th 2011 5:34AM
For the season finale of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (Sun., 10PM ET on HBO), Larry David tapped one of New York's most famous citizens in Michael J. Fox. As he was playing a version of himself, FOX didn't shy away from his Parkinson's. In fact, it was a major part of the conflict between him and Larry. But Parkinson's wasn't the only potentially controversial subject broached on this episode, as Larry gave a fantastic gift to a seven-year old "pre-gay" boy.
Now the gift was incredibly well-received and loved by the child, but his mother -- who also happens to be Larry's latest girlfriend -- was none too pleased, accusing Larry of trying to make her son gay.
Can Larry David Help Bill Buckner Find Redemption on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'? (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 6th 2011 3:22AM
Thanks to his own screw-up with a routine grounder in the softball championship game, Larry David found himself able to commiserate with Bill Buckner on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (Sun., 10PM ET on HBO).Buckner famously made a similar fielding error in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series for the Boston Red Sox that cost them the game.
Buckner was game to come on and make fun of his legacy a bit, when he again missed a routine toss of a baseball Larry had gotten signed for Jeff's birthday, on behalf of Susie. Maybe he agreed to it because they wrote in a bit of redemption for him as well.
Larry and Jeff Use the Car Periscope to Track a Man on 'Curb' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 29th 2011 5:57AM
Taking a page from 'The Fugitive,' Larry David found himself on the hunt for a one-armed man after a dinner party mix-up left him blamed for being cruel to an old television judge on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (Sun., 10PM ET on HBO). He and Jeff were aided greatly in their search by an invention prototype they were looking to invest in.The car periscope allows you to see further ahead to better anticipate what's happening in traffic, and it worked great for finding the one-armed man. Unfortunately, Larry never did catch the guy, despite a classic cop show car chase through the streets of New York, and a close encounter when the guy started upstreaming him for a cab.
A Virtual Tour of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Locations
by Alex Moaba, posted Aug 27th 2011 10:00AM
'Curb Your Enthusiasm' may currently be set in New York, but most of Larry David's awkward encounters and social assassinations have been filmed in Malibu, California.Santa Monica Patch editor Kurt Orzeck set out on a quest to document as many real-life 'Curb' locations as he could, and his reporting serves as a virtual tour of 'Curb''s eight seasons.
To the right, check out a picture of the restaurant L.A. Farm, which is one of the show's most frequent locations. Larry lunches with his manager Jeff there all the time, and, as such, it's been the scene of a fair amount of trouble. In 'Officer Krupke,' Larry slipped the Maitre d' a $20 to get a table because the wait was so long. In Season 2's 'The Bracelet,' Larry leaves his credit card there and struggles to get it back from the Captain, whom he's previously declined to tip.
Head on over to Santa Monica Patch for the full photo gallery. It's prett-ay, prett-ay good.
Larry David and Rosie O'Donnell Fight Over the Same Woman on 'Curb' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 22nd 2011 6:38AM
Larry met a beautiful woman who seemed to genuinely be interested in him on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (Sun., 10PM ET on HBO), so we knew there had to be a catch. The catch turned out to be guest star Rosie O'Donnell. Apparently, the woman had given her number to both of them. What followed was a competition between Larry and Rosie for this woman's time and affection; a competition Larry seemed to be winning almost from the opening moment. But it was the surprise arrival of Leon in New York, where he promptly makes himself at home in the place Larry's staying.
But Leon comes bearing little blue pills that make Larry a lion in the bed. It's an edge that extended onto the softball field as well, leading Rosie to suspect he was juicing. It was enough to give Larry the win over Rosie, but oddly enough the episode ended without Larry getting caught by Rosie.
It's Larry David to Ricky Gervais' Rescue on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 15th 2011 6:40AM
This week, Larry David finally set foot in New York City on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (Sun., 10PM ET on HBO). And when you think of New York, you think of ... Ricky Gervais?Well, regardless, Gervais was the special guest in this week's insanity, and his presence must have inspired the writers as this was a brilliantly written and tightly crafted installment of 'Curb.' Perhaps the only surprise for David's character was a moment of genuine bravery.
In the beginning of the episode, David met a girl on the plane to New York when he tripped over his shoelaces and took down a belligerent and abusive passenger. But when she found out the truth, she gravitated toward Gervais.
Susie Essman Says the Real Larry David Isn't Actually a Pain to Work With (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 11th 2011 2:10PM
Shockingly, the real-life Susie Essman said on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) that the real-life Larry David isn't nearly as much of a pain in the butt as his character on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm.' This, despite the fact that the show's annual renewal hinges on David deciding he wants to come back for another season. But Essman is willing to cut 'Curb's' creative genius a little slack on that front."You know what, he's really not [a pain]," said Essman. "He's the one that has to come up with these outlines and he's the one that has to do all the work, so he has to decide [to continue the show]." That puzzled Gifford. "How long could it take?" she said, citing a clip where David and Essman argue about dinner. "Larry walks in with a piece of bread and she's unhappy."
Larry Intervenes in a 'Chat and Cut' on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (VIDEO)
by Catherine Lawson, posted Aug 8th 2011 8:20AM
Woe betide anyone trying to cut ahead of Larry David in a line. He will call you out for it.On 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (Sun., 10PM ET on HBO) he berated a woman for doing a "chat and cut" in the line for the buffet table.
She'd managed to push ahead of him by chatting to the guy in front of him and then sidling into the line behind the guy.
Larry tapped her on the shoulder and congratulated her on her "excellent attempt at a 'chat and cut.'"
In fact, she was so good at it that if Larry -- a self-professed master of the chat and cut -- hadn't been behind her, then she would probably have gotten away with it.
Larry Wears an Awkward Sunburn to a Funeral on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 1st 2011 6:03AM
Larry David had a dream on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (Sun., 10PM ET on HBO). He dreamed that he could date a woman at a restaurant he frequented, and then continue to go there after they broke up. His friends said it couldn't be done, but he was determined to do it.Then, as Larry does, he facilitated their break-up by putting expectations on her that weren't met. His argument about her giving back the $60 he lent her after she didn't use it, though, was a valid one. His mistake was in trusting her to put sun block on his head while this argument was happening.
As such, she gifted him with the first thing he complained to her about. Smiley faces in text messages. It would have been that much funnier had she drawn it sideways on his head, to match the text version, but it was still a great visual ... particularly because Larry's next stop was the funeral of his assistant's father.
Larry Is Asked to Be a 'Dessert Referee' on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 25th 2011 5:52AM
In all honestly, we're going to have to back Larry David on the latest 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (Sun., 10PM ET on HBO). Of course, social etiquette probably says that when the woman started screaming and reaching for the cake, you let her have the cake. But she did tell him to not let her have any, "no matter what." She'd just lost 60 lbs on a diet, and it wasn't even a passing conversation when she made Larry her "dessert referee." There were several exchanges, leading him to believe she was serious.
Maybe dessert is a particular weakness of hers, so Larry was more than happy to play the bad guy and not allow her to have a piece of cake. In fact, we'd argue that it did seem to be a weakness, and she had very little control over her impulses. Who fights that violently for a piece of cake?
Crying Woman Keeps Larry From His Ice Cream on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 18th 2011 11:30AM
Sometimes, you just need your Chubby Hubby. And sometimes you have to go through someone who is sobbing uncontrollably in the freezer aisle to get it. That was Larry David's challenge Sunday on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (Sunday, 10PM on HBO), and he tackled it with typically awkward results. It's not like Larry didn't try to be understanding. He politely stated his intention, furrowed his brow and tried to look sympathetic. He even made little "aww" sounds. They refused to move. So he tried to go around them from the side to reach his Ben & Jerry's fix. The consoling friend wouldn't have it, and caught him mid-reach.
"Sir, excuse me, now, I've tried to be nice," she said. "I have asked you to give us some space."
Larry David Tries to Explain Tampons to a Girl Scout on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 11th 2011 5:59AM
If you're sitting there with an uncomfortable feeling sitting in the pit of your stomach, then you know Larry David is back. In the Season 8 premiere of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (Sun., 10PM ET on HBO), David found himself in one of the most awkward positions any man could be in.A girl scout arrived selling cookies, and then realized she had just started her first-ever period. This isn't Larry's daughter. He has no woman in the house anymore. To his credit, Larry tried to do the right thing, and he did have tampons on hand at least.
We can't imagine a more traumatic first time for any young girl than having Larry David outside the bathroom door trying to explain to you how to use a tampon. As we usually see on 'Curb,' Larry's good intentions spiraled out of control and left him in his usual quagmire of self-induced misery.
Kelly Calls Out Regis's Man-Crush on Larry David (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 7th 2011 1:45PM
Wednesday, Regis Philbin fulfilled a long-held dream when Larry David appeared on 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (weekdays, syndicated). Regis was still gushing about the experience Thursday, so much so that Kelly Ripa called him out on his man-crush."I admire his writing ability and his comedic ability," said Philbin. "No," Ripa admonished. "You're in love with him." Philbin said David was great and that maybe he had a little crush, but Ripa wouldn't budge, saying, "No, you're crushing on him. You have a crush." Philbin explained that these things sometimes happen to men.
