Lost creators Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse recently made an appearance at a Promax/BDA conference where they made some promises about the series ending and provided some insight on extras they have planned for next season.

First of all, the two promising fans that they will not give the series a "murky" ending, like what happened with this week's series finale of The Sopranos. They said they will answer questions and explain the island's mysteries over the next 48 episodes.

I don't want to ruin it for you guys who haven't had a chance to see last night's episode of Lost. After all, it hasn't even been 24 hours since the show aired.

Let's just say that someone dies and there are conflicting reports all over the internet today about why that certain someone was written off the show.

I've been reading these rumors for a while but now it appears to be true- Nathan Fillion has a guest starring role coming up on Lost. According to Sci Fi Wire, he'll play a character named 'Kevin' in an episode called "I Do" which airs on November 8th. It's the last episode before Lost goes on a 13-week break. The story doesn't say what his role is but I'm guessing that he's in a flashback. The episode is written by executive producers Damon Lindeloff and Carlton Cuse.

Why should you care? Fillion is a hero to many Firefly worshippers. He played Capt. Mal Reynolds in the short-lived series and the movie, Serenity.

Our buddies over at Cinematical are all a-buzz over the possibility that the ABC drama, Lost, will culminate with a movie. Executive producer Damon Lindeloff is talking up the idea of bringing the series to a close with a big screen finale. He would like to do five seasons and then a movie, partly to keep the network from making him drag the show on and on for years. It's hard to argue with his reasoning. We've all seen what happens when good shows outstay their welcome (The X-Files, Desperate Housewives - ha!).

With all the complicated storylines and themes, I'd say that's a movie that will confound anyone who hasn't watched the series. And, should it only be for fans of the television show? Movies like The X-Files: Fight the Future and Serenity were dumbed down a bit in order to woo a broader audience. Is that even possible with something like Lost?

Javier Grillo-Marxuach, a supervising producer and writer on Lost, is leaving the show. He was hired on about two years ago when Lost was just a gleam in J.J. Abrams' eye. On his website, Javi says his gig on Lost was only meant to be a couple of months so he could help create long-term story arcs and basically plan out the series (and write a pilot!). Two years, seven episodes, and "one hanging hobbit" later, Javi said it's the right time for him to leave and let the other writers take the show where it needs to go.

Javi has been one of the most high-profile writers of the show, frequently producing the Radio Free Javi podcasts about Lost and his other interests, including comic books. He also is a frequent contributor to The Fuselage, the ABC-sanctioned forum about the show.

Lost producers are denying rumors in US Weekly that Michelle Rodriguez, who plays the unlikable Ana Lucia on Lost, is being booted off the show for her bad behavior. Michelle's poor decisions about drinking and driving made headlines several times during the fall, but Lost producers say that's no reason to vote the girl off the island.

Co-creator Damon Lindeloff told TV Guide Online's Ask Ausiello, "Not a word of it is true. Lost's story is the star, and no actor would ever be killed off for any reason other than supporting the story."

Hmmm. Damon may be speaking a little too early on that one. Rodriguez goes to trial in March on her latest drunk driving charge, where she could be sent to California for violating probation related to drunk driving charges there. I think that'd bring a quick end to Ana Lucia.
