'SNL' Musical Guests: Best 'Saturday Night Live' Performance Videos
by Michael D. Ayers, posted Nov 6th 2009 2:00PM

Since its debut in 1975, 'Saturday Night Live' has been synonymous with bringing pop music to the late-night, weekend masses. Now in its 35th season on NBC, 'SNL' has indeed become the holy grail for musicians.
Over the years, many memorable performances have graced the 'SNL' stage. In this list, we select the 7 best. Some were energetic, some were raw and emotive, some were quirky and fun.
But mostly, they were all daring for broadcast television at the time.
Sundays with Seth: Meet the Crinklesacks and fly with the Smiths
by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 12th 2009 9:25AM

This is the third week of the new FOX Sunday night, so it's time to check in and see how the lineup is shaping up. I wanted to give The Cleveland Show a few weeks to settle down and start to figure out what kind of show it wants to be. The pilot wasn't the strongest, but there was so much set-up involved, you couldn't tell anything about what future episodes would be like.
With Seth MacFarlane now providing a full hour-and-a-half of FOX's Sunday programming, we decided to take a look at all of his shows in a single post each week. At first, I wasn't sure if I was even going to like The Cleveland Show enough to do this, but it's already grown on me. And that's much faster than American Dad, which took more than a year of sampling here and there before I tuned in regularly.
What to Watch: October 12 - 19

The Simpsons (Sunday, 8 pm, Global/Fox)
It's the 20th anniversary of the Treehouse of Horror Halloween Specials (can you believe it?), and this time Lisa pays homage to classic Hitchcock scenarios, Krusty turns Kent Brockman into a zombie and Homer fulfills his destiny, becoming a part-man, part-brewing apparatus.
(By the way, I'm aware that this is the day BEFORE the typical 'What to Watch' week. I just had to include it.)
Saturday Night Live: Alec Baldwin/The Jonas Brothers - VIDEOS
by Annie Wu, posted Feb 15th 2009 2:29PM

(S34E16) It was pretty obvious there was going to be at least two sketches with the Jonas Brothers. I called it! I mean, no one apart from the people in my apartment know I called it, but that doesn't change the facts or my sad sense of accomplishment. I had to tune out once they started singing (sorry, 15 year-old girls), but their skits were all right. Alec Baldwin did a fine job of hosting as well, though there weren't any particularly striking sketches. I suppose after doing something like "Schwetty Balls", just about everything else will pale in comparison.
Sanjaya makes them cry on SNL
by Liz Finn-Arnold, posted Mar 26th 2007 1:02PM
The Sanjaya controversy continues to heat up. Seriously, that's all anyone is talking about in our comments. Love him or deeply despise him, Sanjaya is now a pop cultural phenomenon. This week, Saturday Night Live took to mocking Sanjaya's latest American Idol performance. In SNL's sketch, Sanjaya, played by Andy Samberg, shows up in the middle of Weekend Update for a surprise appearance. Amy and Seth are heard reacting in the background (Seth: "Is he happy or scared?" Amy: "He's terrible"). A shot of the audience reveals the infamous "crying girl", a weepy Fred Armisen, and a famous SNL alum also brought to tears by Sanjaya.
Tears of joy or tears of disgust? Sanjaya inspires them all. You can view the clip at TV's Top 5 (AOL TV) or on YouTube.
