How I Met Your Mother: Not a Father's Day
by Joel Keller, posted Nov 10th 2008 11:20PM
(S04E07) Behold the power of cute. It's just a little sock, but it wields so much adorableness, it makes everyone who touches it into a babbling idiot. How else do you explain what we saw by the end of this interesting episode? By the time the sock was finished imposing its widdle biddy ruthlessness on the Scooby gang, some of them weren't recognizable.
At least the sock didn't make Marshall into a girl, like in the picture above. No, that was the Cheerleader Effect in full force.
Army Wives: The Hero Returns
by Allison Waldman, posted Jul 6th 2008 11:55PM
(S02E05) For the first 52 minutes (including commercials) of tonight's Army Wives, I was wondering where it was going, and -- I have to admit -- I was getting a little impatient. It seemed like a lot of little bits weren't adding up for a very cohesive episode. Then the last act kicked in and I found myself in tears. The memorial service at the end for the MIA soldier whose remains were finally being returned from Vietnam was a knockout. It just took some time to get to that point.
The heart of the show was Trevor's return from Iraq and his difficulties dealing with the aftermath of killing the man who shot and wounded him. He's uncomfortable with being labeled a hero.

Just My Show interviews Marion Ross and Dan Lauria
by Adam Finley, posted Jun 25th 2007 7:21PM
I'm a bit late with this, so forgive me, but it's still worth mentioning.
The podcast Just My Show recently interviewed Marion Ross of Happy Days and Dan Lauria of The Wonder Years.
The interviewer is no Jesse Thorn, and he doesn't so much ask questions as just mention items from the interviewees past and ask for comments, but it's still a pleasure to hear these two TV parents talk about their roles.
