Hospital Stay Doesn't Stop Adamme on 'Dance Your A** Off' (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Jun 29th 2010 8:15AM
Adamme's Hospital Stay on 'Dance Your A** Off'It appears that even hospitalization couldn't keep the ever high-spirited Adamme down on 'Dance Your A** Off' (Mon., 10PM ET on OXY). Adamme had been taking the show's title to heart, consistently ranking high in dance routines and weight-loss.

But all that work caught up with him when extreme weakness landed him in the hospital. There Adamme was diagnosed with anemia and forced to stay a few days to receive blood transfusions.

However, check out his contribution to the group dance number. Despite having to perform the very day he was released from the hospital, and missing most of the rehearsals, he thrived again. One judge even gave Adamme and Briana a 10.

Love in the Air on 'Dance Your A** Off'Looks like some lovin' could ensue on 'Dance Your A** Off' (Mon., 10PM ET on OXY). With the contestants dancing, dieting and living together, pairing off was bound to happen.

"[Kiki] is just a little ball of adorableness," says Corey. "I'd say I'm developing a little crush for Kiki."

She says Corey is "a very big sweetheart," but crush-worthy? Well, she does mention letting him "cop a feel." But she's joking. Maybe.

Adamme's Big Score on 'Dance Your Ass Off'It was a big night for Adamme on 'Dance Your A** Off' (Mon., 10PM ET on OXY). Not only did he and Corey perform a near flawless (and fun) dance routine to 'Whoomp There It Is,' Adamme got a record-making score.

[Spoiler alert.]

One of the judges gave him a perfect 10 -- the first of the season -- which helped him earn an overall tally of 9.3, the highest yet.

As if things couldn't get better for the Vegas native, in the weight-loss portion of the competition, he found out he'd lost 12.3 pounds, giving him the lead over the other contestants. Check out his moves in the video.

Bold and Bedazzled on 'Dance Your Ass Off' (VIDEO)

Bold, Bedazzled on 'Dance Your Ass Off'A bold and bedazzled contestant on 'Dance Your Ass Off' (Mon., 11PM ET on OXY) charmed his way onto the season 2 premiere of the dance/weight-loss competition show.

At first judge Lisa Ann Walter was bemused by Benjamin, a hefty guy who wore a shredded, cut-off and bedazzled shirt. But soon everyone was taken by his exuberant confidence.

"When the music comes on, I come on because I'll lose all this right here," he said, grabbing his gut and shaking it for the camera. The Dallas resident made it through to the final 25.

'Dance Your Ass Off' Replaces Full-Figured Marissa Jaret Winokur with Thinner Host

by Maggie Furlong, posted Jan 10th 2010 7:30PM
Marissa Jaret Winokur / Melanie BrownHollywood is full of super skinny celebrities, but it isn't often that the entertainment industry embraces fuller-figured talent.

That's why it made perfect sense when Oxygen's dance-weight loss reality show, 'Dance Your Ass Off,' nabbed curvy host Marissa Jaret Winokur -- who charmed audiences and won a Tony for her role in 'Hairspray' on Broadway, and danced her way to the semi-finals on season 6 of 'Dancing With the Stars' -- for its first season.

It's also why it's so disappointing that they've replaced Winokur with -- gasp! -- a skinnier host for season 2. Despite great ratings for season 1, Oxygen has announced that former Spice Girl and fellow 'DWTS' alum Melanie Brown, a.k.a. Mel B., is replacing Winokur as the show's host.

The reality TV dance show scorecard

by Michael Pascua, posted Jun 17th 2009 3:25PM
Chelsie Hightower on So You Think You Can Dance, months before Dancing with the StarsWith the second week of competitions tonight on So You Think You Can Dance, I wanted to point out a trend: reality dance show contestants can't leave television. Several contestants and a few choreographers have jumped ship and have appeared on other reality shows.

The jump basically can plant an already established fanbase onto a different television show. One great example is Ty Murray on Dancing with the Stars. I'm not sure what the percentage of votes for Ty came from fans of Chelsie Hightower and her work from SYTYCD or his charm, but he definitely benefited from someone who knew to make routines that were camera friendly.
