EXCLUSIVE First Look: A TV Wedding, 'Hawaii Five-0' Style

by Maggie Furlong, posted Dec 2nd 2011 7:30PM
A 'Hawaii Five-0' wedding'Lost' alums Daniel Dae Kim and Reiko Aylesworth have had plenty of special events to celebrate on the big island, but this one takes the cake.

Yep, the 'Hawaii Five-0' wedding is almost here, and we've got the exclusive first look at the big day. In 'Alaheo Pau'ole' (Mon., Dec. 12, 10PM ET on CBS) -- which translates to "Gone Forever" -- Chin and Malia are tying the knot, but not before the Five-0 are called to investigate a crime or two. It seems a man was left for dead in an abandoned WWII bunker, and that is somehow tied to a Jane Doe case the Capt. Fryer (Tom Sizemore) is working on.

So will the complicated case put the kibosh on the wedding celebration? Doesn't look like it. Check out these five exclusive pictures, including a peek behind-the-scenes, after the jump.

Daniel Dae Kim Dishes 'Hawaii Five-0,' Big Guest Stars, 'Lost' Reunions & More (VIDEO)

by Maggie Furlong, posted Feb 14th 2011 3:45PM
Daniel Dae Kim, 'Hawaii Five-0'If you're in Hawaii for a TV assignment, your priorities look something like this: 1) Enjoy some sun, 2) enjoy some sun while doing your TV assignment, and 3) meet up with Daniel Dae Kim.

The 'Hawaii Five-0' star has become a fixture on the island since shooting 'Lost' there, and he's lucky enough to still be working in paradise. But do he and his fellow cast members get to take advantage of their beautiful surroundings? "When we're shooting somewhere near a surfbreak, half of the crew and some of the cast will disappear and go surf," he admitted.

Best. Job. Ever.

Kim also talked about how he's getting to do things now that he was never able to do as Jin (he speaks more English, for starters) and how 'Five-0' is attempting to get audiences even more hooked.

Then he dished about big upcoming guest stars -- including Dane Cook and Sean "Diddy" Combs -- and which of his old 'Lost' pals he'd love to work with again.

Is 'Hawaii Five-0' Moving to L.A.? Star Daniel Dae Kim Sounds Off

by Maggie Furlong, posted Feb 3rd 2011 10:00AM
Daniel Dae Kim, 'Hawaii Five-0'There have been some Internet rumblings that 'Hawaii Five-0' (Mondays, 10PM ET on CBS) might be moving to Los Angeles, and they just won't go away. I know, it's blasphemy, right? Right?

Since I'm currently in Hawaii down the street from where they shoot, I thought I'd get our pal, star Daniel Dae Kim, to set the record straight.

After all, if anyone's an expert on shooting here in paradise, it's him. With 'Lost' and now 'Five-0' both based in Oahu, he and his family have called the island home for a while now.

So, are the rumors true? Could they really fake Hawaii on a show with Hawaii in the title?

'Hawaii Five-0': Playing 'Chicken' With a Jet (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Nov 2nd 2010 9:02AM
'Hawaii Five-0': Playing 'Chicken' With a JetWhen you're playing the game of "chicken," you have to fully commit. Two people are headed together on a collision course -- the first one to flinch loses the game. On the other hand, if no one flinches -- then everyone loses. And on 'Hawaii Five-0' (Mon., 10PM ET on CBS), that could lead to death.

[Warning: Spoiler alert.]

On the new episode, Navy SEAL Graham Wilson (Adam Beach) is accused of a crime he didn't commit. Wilson is blamed for the death of his wife -- as a result, he goes berserk. The solider grabs a bunch of hostages. He demands that the cops find the real killer -- or else.

Graham is playing chicken, but so are policemen Danno and McGarrett (Scott Caan and Alex O'Loughlin). As a former SEAL, Steve McGarrett sympathizes with Graham. But his partner Danny "Danno" Williams just thinks the guy is a murderer.

Daniel Dae Kim Was 'Lost,' But Then He Found A New Role in Hawaii With 'Five-0' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 27th 2010 1:59PM
Daniel Dae Kim, 'The Early Show'It's a pretty special treat for an actor when they get to star in two back-to-back series that are both critically acclaimed and successful. Daniel Dae Kim is poised to do that, but with a twist that make his experience even more extraordinary. With 'Hawaii Five-0' premiering strong for CBS he may have the rare treat of having those back-to-back shows filmed in Hawaii; 'Lost' was filmed there as well.

"I don't know what the odds are of that," Kim told Harry Smith of 'The Early Show' (Weekdays, 7AM on CBS), "But I'll bet they're pretty slim." Somebody should have been playing the lottery while he was at it. After 'Lost' wrapped and most of his castmates headed back to the mainland, Kim stayed on the islands to welcome his new castmates to its beauty and wonders.

'Hawaii Five-0' Cast at Comic-Con: Everyone From 'Lost,' Come on Down

by Michael Maloney, posted Jul 23rd 2010 3:20PM
Hawaii Five 0As different as CBS' new fall action reboot 'Hawaii Five-0' is in story, style and structure from 'Lost,' they do share a key thing in common -- location, location, location.

That's partially what drew 'Lost' star Daniel Dae Kim to the project. "I've made no secret of the fact that I really loved living in Hawaii and I wanted to stay," he told a hall full of fans at San Diego's Comic-Con. "But I wasn't going to unless it was a project I really cared about."

The producers aren't shy about the fact they're hoping some of the 'Lost' magic rubs off on their show. As executive producer Roberto Orci joked, "Luckily the rest of the cast of 'Lost' need jobs."

Daniel Dae Kim Talks Family, the Big Finale & Favorite 'Lost' Couple

by Maggie Furlong, posted May 4th 2010 4:30PM
Daniel Dae Kim, 'Lost'Let's get this out of the way: 'Lost' star Daniel Dae Kim is beyond charming.

When I chatted with him about the big (albeit abbreviated) Jin and Sun reunion and the cult favorite show's final five hours on TV, he was cracking jokes, waxing sentimental and not too impressed with the Nick Jonas tunes he had to listen to while ABC connected our call. "That might be the new century's equivalent to elevator music," he said with a laugh ... and that was the first laugh of many.

Keep reading to get DDK's initiation into the tease club, what episode he thinks will be most interesting to watch after the finale and his interesting choice for favorite 'Lost' couple. We also talk about all that shirtlessness, the show he'd love to guest star on and more.

EXCLUSIVE 'Lost' Collector's Vintage Prints of Final Six Candidates

by Maggie Furlong, posted Apr 28th 2010 3:30PM
There are only five hours remaining in one of the greatest TV sagas in history, and fan consumption of all things 'Lost' has reached an all-time high.
To feed the need -- because, believe me, we have it too -- ABC has given us the exclusive sneak peek at their new vintage portraits from the 'Lost' pilot gallery. Titled "The Candidate Collection," the retro images of the Island's remaining six candidates will be sold as 11"x14" custom prints on fine art, museum quality rag photo paper with deckled edges.

Besides being gorgeous shots of Jack, Sawyer, Hurley, Sayid, Jin and Sun, there will also be a hidden Easter egg in each print (in typical 'Lost' fashion), making these true collector's items.

Each print costs $49.99, or you can buy the complete collection of six for $249.99. Set your reminders now: The prints will go on sale Thursday, April 29 at 9AM PT at www.officialLostphotos.com ... and we don't expect them to last long.

Drumroll please ...

'Lost' - 'The Package' Recap

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 31st 2010 2:03AM
Yunjin Kim, 'Lost' - 'The Package'(S06E10) Sun and Jin. Star-crossed lovers no matter what reality you're in. But their relationship certainly isn't at the same point on Oceanic 815 in the beta-verse as it was in the alpha-verse; despite things looking rather similar when Jin was yelling at Sun to button up her blouse. How dare she show her sternum! It is rather titillating, isn't it?

Korean was flying everywhere in both realities this week, as alpha-Sun and alpha-Jin continued their molasses-paced efforts to reunite on the island. Meanwhile, we got a hint as to what it's like to be inside alpha-Sayid right now, and it doesn't seem like a place I want to go anytime soon.

As expected, the beta-verse adventures of Sun and Jin coincided nicely with Sayid's beta-adventure, meaning that we got to see the other side of the story that led to Jin being tied to a chair in that restaurant storage room.

'Lost' - 'Lighthouse' Recap

by Jason Hughes, posted Feb 24th 2010 4:18AM
Jorge Garcia & Matthew Fox, 'Lost' - 'Lighthouse'
(S06E05)
Jack took center stage this week, in more ways than one. The character of Jack has always been frustrating to me, and I've realized it's because he's so well written and well-rounded. With many of the characters, you can safely anticipate their behavior, but Jack has thrown in a few surprises along the way.

Yes, his default setting seems to be stubborn, bull-headed anger, but we see enough of the introspective and thoughtful Jack that it's frustrating to see him succumb so completely to that mule side of his personality. Through the use of the Jack story we saw in tonight's flash-sideways, we actually got to witness both versions of Jack in one episode.

'Lost' Stars Talk About Show Mysteries THEY Want Answered (VIDEO)

by Maggie Furlong, posted Feb 19th 2010 9:00AM
Every 'Lost' fan has one (OK, at least one) mystery from the show that they're dying to have answered before the series ends. But what about the stars of the show?
I caught up with Jack, Locke/Smocke, Ben, Sun, Jin, Hurley, Richard Alpert and Desmond -- known off the Island as Matthew Fox, Terry O'Quinn, Michael Emerson, Yunjin Kim, Daniel Dae Kim, Jorge Garcia, Nestor Carbonell and Henry Ian Cusick -- and some more of their 'Lost' pals in Hawaii to find out what they want to see resolved in this final season.

With answers ranging from the numbers (which we're just beginning to scratch the surface on), to the origins of the Island, this quick video makes me love them -- and this show -- even more. Of course it always helps to hear Benjamin Linus threaten harm to the smoke monster, too.
