Eric McCormack creates show for Lifetime

by Adam Finley, posted Apr 16th 2006 12:57PM
eric mccormackSitcoms Online reports that Eric McCormack of Will and Grace has created a show for Lifetime television called Lovespring International. The series, which is slated for six episodes, will focus on a dating service that alleges to be based in Beverly Hills, but is actually in Tarzana. The staff of the dating service work to convince their clients that their service can find them the perfect match. Actually, isn't that rather similar to UPN's Love Inc? I'd imagine some might make that comparison when the improvised show airs on June 5, but since it's on Lifetime no one will probably see it anyway, so I guess it's a moot point.

Sweeps stunts are tame in February

by Anna Johns, posted Feb 3rd 2006 8:11AM
mandy moore zach braffNovember sweeps stunts brought us stormtroopers on The Apprentice, a live debate on The West Wing, a dead chick on Lost and Medium in 3-D. Why are February ratings so tame? One word: Olympics.

NBC is expected to kick some television tail when it covers the Olympics every single night from February 10-26. Going into this month, the networks are touting some pretty uninteresting guest stars on the shows that need a boost. And that's about it. Oh, there is also going to be some sh*t going down on The O.C., but you don't want the spoilers, do you?

Here are some highlights for February sweeps, which began yesterday and run through March 1:

Dr. Phil's next victim? Paula Abdul.

by Anna Johns, posted Jan 27th 2006 11:08AM
Why does Paula Abdul continue to set herself up for mean jokes from Simon Cowell? This time she's going to be featured on a Valentine's Day special edition of Dr. Phil where the two try to figure out why she's been married two times and is once again single. One of the problems, according to the press release for the show, is that Paula has a hard time being with men who haven't reached her level of success. [Insert Simon Cowell jab here]

After she and Dr. Phil have dissected her relationship issues, Paula will choose one man out of ten to go on a blind date. That date will be filmed, of course, and Dr. Phil will also dissect that. Why can't The Smoking Gun do an expose on this man?

Jack Osbourne is dating Kate Moss?

by Anna Johns, posted Jan 20th 2006 10:53AM
I bet even Jack Osbourne never thought he'd get to date supermodel Kate Moss someday. But now he's hot and she's clean, so apparently they make a good match. The unlikely couple were reportedly doing some dirty dancing at a party after the Golden Globes awards in Los Angeles earlier this week. Tabloids have them on a bunch of other dates, too.

Kate Moss has just been through a heck of a time. She was caught by British tabloids doing cocaine, lost half her modeling contracts, dumped her druggie boyfriend, and ran off to rehab in the United States. Maybe that's where she and Jack have a connection. He also did a stint in rehab for a drug and alcohol addiction. Jack, by the way, is 20 years old. Kate is 32.
