'Lone Star' Leads James Wolk and Eloise Mumford Book Pilots, David Arquette to Sit Down With Oprah and More

by Jean Bentley, posted Feb 18th 2011 2:30PM
Lone Star, James Wolk, Adrianne Palicki, Eloise MumfordFinally, the critically lauded stars of 'Lone Star' have all found other gigs. Adrianne Palicki was cast yesterday in David E. Kelley's 'Wonder Woman' reboot, and now the other two leads have booked pilots of their own.

The charming James Wolk will play young speechwriter Andrew Pierce in Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage's Washington, D.C.–set ABC pilot, 'Georgetown.' According to Vulture, the casting breakdown describes the character as a "handsome, effortlessly charming, sophisticated, brilliant, Yale graduate" and "the youngest presidential speech-writer on record."

Eloise Mumford, who played Wolk's sweetly innocent girlfriend on 'Lone Star,' is the first one cast in the ABC thriller drama 'The River.' She'll star as a "fearless helicopter pilot" searching for a missing TV explorer and his cameraman (who also happens to be her father) in the Amazon, according to Deadline.

Disney isn't letting the 'High School Musical' franchise die with its cast's innocence, not with 'Madison High' in the works. The new series will follow drama teacher Ms. Darbus as she moves from East High to the titular school to rebuild the drama program there. [Variety]

David Giuntoli will solve mysteries as the handsome detective lead on NBC's 'Grimm.' Like many other pilots this season, the drama's got fantastical elements: characters from the Grimm brothers fairy tales exist, and Giuntoli's Nick Burckhardt is tasked with protecting humans from the beasts. David Arquette will replace Michael Vick on 'Oprah' next week. The fresh-out-of-rehab 'Scream 4' star will replace the Eagles quarterback, who abruptly cancelled his appearance two days ago. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Lindsay Lohan's Mom Wants on 'Dancing With the Stars,' Supercomputer to Face 'Jeopardy!' Champions and More

by Jean Bentley, posted Dec 14th 2010 3:00PM
Dina LohanLindsay Lohan won't be on 'Dancing With the Stars' next season, but we could see another Lohan instead.

In an interview with RadarOnline, Lindsay's mom, Dina, said she was interested in appearing on the show even though her daughter turned it down, saying, "Lindsay actually told the woman at 'Dancing With the Stars' who made the offer that 'you need to take my mom!'"

No word on whether the producers listened to the suggestion, but since Dina's giving interviews about the conversation, we're betting they didn't.

Lopez Cheers Up David Arquette with Oompa-Loompas, Laker Girls, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Nov 24th 2010 6:30AM
David Arquette, Laker Girls on 'Lopez Tonight'George Lopez doesn't like to see his usually happy-go-lucky buddy David Arquette feeling down -- what with his marital problems and trial separation from Courteney Cox. We're not convinced Arquette is in a somber mood, given that he partied his troubles away in Miami last weekend. Regardless, Lopez had a few surprises to cheer him up when he visited 'Lopez Tonight' (weeknights, 12AM ET on TBS).

First up, some Oompa-Loompas with a big cake. Arquette took a giant mouthful -- no utensils necessary. Next, he shot some hoops with against Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Then the L.A. Laker Girls joined them on a snowy sleigh ride. "I'm very happy!" he told the host.

David Arquette, Chris Jericho Have Sing-off on 'Lopez Tonight' (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Mar 24th 2010 10:30AM
David Arquette, Chris Jericho on 'Lopez Tonight'Due to some "bad blood" between David Arquette and Chris Jericho, George Lopez figured his show ('Lopez Tonight,' weeknights, 11PM ET on TBS) would be a good opportunity to "settle it the way men should settle their differences: karaoke."

So WWE pro wrestler Chris (and lead singer of heavy metal band Fozzy) and David (dressed as a pro wrestler) competed with 'Total Eclipse of the Heart.' Neither did an amazing job, but at least they appear to have bonded during the chorus.

Who do you think gave the better performance? Watch the video, then decide for yourself.

"There's a lot to relationships in general. You just have to really work at them. They're not easy, and you have to ... be kind to each other and ... figure out what each other's ... buttons are and figure out how not to push them," Arquette said. "You can't leave your heart open. Production on 'Cougar Town' Shut Down Due to "Private Family Matter"

by Elizabeth Chan, posted Nov 23rd 2009 11:45AM
Courteney Cox in 'Cougar Town'Production on ABC's 'Cougar Town' has been temporarily shut down due to a "private family matter" involving its star, Courteney Cox, EW.com has confirmed.

The good news: 'Cougar Town' already completed three new episodes prior to the shut down. One of the episodes includes Cox's highly-anticipated reunion with her former 'Friends' co-star, Lisa Kudrow. Kudrow will play a dermatologist whose treatments Jules (Cox) quickly becomes addicted to.

No official announcement has been made regarding the issue, although there is one possible explanation for all of this: a baby. During the publicity rounds for 'Cougar Town,' Cox admitted that she and hubby David Arquette were open to the idea of expanding their family. "We're not trying yet," she told OK!, via ABC News. "We're revving up the engines. I'm only ready 'cause time's a-ticking."

Poehler and Arnett Team up on 'Parks and Recreation' -- What Other Real-Life Couples Should Try It?

by Rebecca Paiement, posted Nov 18th 2009 11:29AM
Things are heating up this season in Pawnee, Indiana. E! Online reports that the 'Parks and Recreation' team have Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler, accidentally getting involved in a sex scandal that derails her plans for a city Santa's Village. Producer Mike Schur says, "There are rumors swirling about another city councilman scandal -- who was disgraced by cave sex in the 'Practice Day' episode -- and Leslie ends up getting photographed with him at a bar late at night by a tabloid newspaper."

As if that isn't enough, Leslie and Dave the Cop don't stand the test of time. "We were so lucky to get Louis C.K.," says Poehler of her character's love interest, "but he's starting his own show."

Luckily, it has just been confirmed by Entertainment Weekly that 'Parks' fans will see that role filled by none other than Poehler's real-life love, Will Arnett. Of course, Poehler and Arnett have worked together many times, including on 'Arrested Development' and in films such as 'Blades of Glory' and 'Monsters vs. Aliens.' So it's only natural that Arnett would stop by 'Parks.'

Arnett's arrival on the show will coincide with that of Justin Theroux who will, incidentally, also vie for Leslie's heart.

With thoughts of Arnett and Poehler teaming up again, we brainstormed some other real-life couples whose pairings would translate well to the small screen.

(S02E04) "Where are you living anyway?" - Ned to Emerson

Did you realize that this week's Pushing Daisies episode is actually only the 13th installment of the refreshing series? I forgot about it for a second or two when I told myself "About time!" after realizing that "Frescorts" was going to offer us some Emerson backstory. I guess the almost-nine-months hiatus, thanks to the writers' strike, made us long for more details about the show's characters. In any case, let me say this: Yay for some Emerson backstory!

Greg Garcia and Jason Lee talk about what's coming up on Earl

my name is earl
The CW may have kicked off its fall season on Labor Day, but for most of the other networks, things are just getting started. So what does that mean for you? Heavy promotion for not only the new shows premiering this fall, but for returning favorites as well. To that end, My Name Is Earl creator Greg Garcia and star Jason Lee spoke with reporters recently about Earl's upcoming 4th season.

My Name Is Earl returns for its 4th season on NBC with two back-to-back episodes, September 25 at 8pm. Not only did Garcia and Lee give us a taste of what to expect when we catch up with our favorite Camdenites, but they also dished the dirt on dream guest stars, what previous guest star peed over by craft services, if an Earl movie is in the works, and perhaps a word or two about a famously abrasive 30 Rock star. All of the details are after the jump.

David Arquette is coming to Pushing Daisies

by Erin Martell, posted Jul 18th 2008 8:19AM
David ArquetteABC must love the Cox-Arquette family. The network's fall season will feature Courteney Cox in a three-episode arc of Scrubs, and now David Arquette is set to guest star on an episode of Pushing Daisies. This role marks Arquette's first ABC appearance since he starred in 2007's In Case of Emergency, which was canceled after only twelve episodes.

I'll save the character-specific information for after the jump. Arquette will guest star in the fourth episode of Pushing Daisies' second season. While he's definitely an acquired taste, David Arquette seems just odd enough to fit in with the show's unique cast of characters.

Medium: Do You Hear What I Hear - VIDEO

The DuBois girls(S04E04) " " - The cast of Medium

There are probably a lot of things about being deaf that are not pleasant but not being able to listen to a Godzilla movie is one that never occurred to me.

I understand that actors will often be typecast into a certain role and may play similar characters on television, but I would think the casting director for Medium would have a little more sense than to cast Dr. Martin Candle from Lost as the hearing specialist.

With only one episode left in its run, ABC has yanked In Case of Emergency off the air. The series stars David Arquette, Jonathan Silverman, and Greg Germann as former high school classmates who reunite later in life and discover they're not where they thought they would be at this point in their lives. Last week's episode scored a 1.5 rating, tying with a repeat of Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll.

A repeat of Lost will replace In Case of Emergency this Wednesday at 9 pm.

Even though it's not an official cancellation, it's pretty clear this show is over. ABC also canceled Six Degrees last week. Still on the bubble is What About Brian.

Medium: 1-900-LUCKY

ryan hurst(S01E18) David Arquette stepped in to direct his sister this week and I think we have to say he did a pretty nice job. It didn't hurt that he was given a very fun script to work with. Much like we saw with Dr. Walker and Captain Push earlier in the season, we were again treated to an appearance of a recurring character. Allison's brother Michael (Ryan Hurst) is back. He was also featured in "Lucky" from season one and "Lucky In Love" from season two.

Truth be told, I think the interaction of Allison and her brother would have been enough to sell me on this episode. They were very good together. Two of their scenes stood out to me. The first one was the meeting with Tanya King (Cindy Pickett). Allison's reaction to Michael's "psychic" work was very amusing. Every time she gave a drawn out sigh I laughed.

David Arquette to direct sister Patricia on Medium

by Julia Ward, posted Feb 15th 2007 12:36PM
Patricia Arquette Medium Brother-SisterHaving a terrific brother myself, I have a great affection for brother-sister teams. Together, they work past the boring notion of sibling rivalry to achieve greatness. Amy and David Sedaris on the New York Theater Workshop stage. Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal in Donnie Darko. John and Joan Cusack in just about every film either one of them has made. Now, another team is looking to make the list of great brother-sister working relationships. David Arquette will be directing big sis Patricia in an upcoming episode of Medium.

Patricia had this to say about the collaboration: "I was always a bossy little girl and being David's older sister I've bossed him around quite a bit. Now that he'll be directing me it will be payback time...I feel so safe with him. I think I'll be able to go to some of my darkest places." That's kinda creepy, but whatever, you work out those family neuroses. When you're done, maybe you could straighten those Baldwins out.
