Before there was 'Parenthood,' there was 'thirtysomething,' and before it was cool to be uncool on 'Glee,' TV fans had MTV's hilarious animated series, 'Daria.' Both shows hit DVD shelves tomorrow -- exciting news, especially for 'Daria' fans, since the show has yet to be released on DVD until now. We think even Daria herself would smile over this eight-disc edition.Check out the rest of this week's hot DVD releases below:
'Daria' - The Complete Animated Series
'Deadliest Warrior' - Season 1
'The Famous Adverntures of Mr. Magoo' - Mr. Magoo in Sherwood Forest

Kendra and Deadliest Warrior renewed, now how about a crossover?
by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 22nd 2009 6:02PM
You never think of these things until their renewal announcements come on the same day. While Spike was busy ordering up a second season of Deadliest Warrior, E! couldn't sign the papers fast enough to bring Kendra back for a sophomore run. After all, Kendra's been all over the tabloids lately with her pregnancy and Playboy Mansion wedding. So why not mash 'em up and have Kendra represented on Deadliest Warrior. You could do "Playmates vs. Porn Stars." Both groups are offensive to my grandmother's church, but they're actually quite different. Their first weapons could be "silicon implants vs. natural breasts." Warrior is on Spike TV after all. I'm sure their target male demographic would support it.
I wonder what will happen when Deadliest Warrior starts to run out of classic warriors to pit against one another? Will we get "Weekend Warriors vs. Ninja Warriors"? Iron Chefs vs. American Idols? Wait, I think I'm on to something here. Pokemon vs. Smurfs. 100 in each camp!

My son is making me watch Deadliest Warrior
by Jane Boursaw, posted Jun 7th 2009 5:00PM
My 14-year-old son is not only big into history, he's also big into warriors. So watching Spike's Deadliest Warrior has become a family affair in our house. I guess they've been playing a lot of marathons lately, because I'm seeing one ferocious battle after the next, each pitting one fierce historical warrior against another. I am learning so much! I'd never heard of William Wallace or Shaka Zulu, but last night, I got a primer on both of these tough warriors. William Wallace was a 13th century Scottish Knight who had an epic poem written about him and inspired films like Braveheart. Shaka Zulu was a Zulu king who reigned during the first half of the 19th century and was eventually assassinated by his half-brothers. That's tough!
Deadliest Warrior is beautifully violent and pulls no punches in telling us exactly how to lop someone's head off with a sword or pierce a vital organ with an axe. We get step-by-step instructions on how a Shaolin Monk uses twin hooks or how the Italian Mafia wields a Tommy gun. From brain matter to entrails to gut spillage, it's all there.
