(S01E04) I really enjoyed Tom Nicholson's (Kerr Smith) storyline in this episode. We get to see his weaknesses as he loses sight of his job when his relationship with a client clouds his judgment. Plus, someone else gets to try a case for once.

The episode opens with a man falling from a skyscraper and then the shaky camera work begins. This week's victim is Daniel Benson, son of legendary studio head Scott Benson. The victim's girlfriend, Molly Larusa, is missing. The two were dating in rehab, which is where Benson plummeted to his death. TNT&G fits into the equation because the missing girl's father is their client, Frank Larusa.

The final webisode of the series begins with Angela telling Dwight about the investigation behind closed doors. She suspects Michael, but Dwight, ever the loyal subordinate, defends Michael and says that Meredith or Creed likely had something to do with the missing $3,000.

However, Angela is still suspicious of Michael, and even accuses Dwight of hiding something. Dwight further defends Michael and uses the "You can't handle the truth!" line from A Few Good Men to prove his point.

This is the first year in my life when I actually am interested in who wins the Super Bowl. You see, I grew up in a baseball home. My first taste of football was in college (Go Griz!) and I've never had a national team to root for. Well, I still don't have a national team to root for. I live in Portland, OR, a city that lives vicariously through the professional sports teams that Seattle has. Therefore, I'm rooting for the Seahawks on Sunday.

In order to pretend that I know what is happening, I did a little research about both teams that I thought I would share with the rest of you who will be watching the Super Bowl for the commercials. By the way, the Super Bowl is on Sunday, Feb. 5th on ABC at 6:30 pm Eastern. In Detroit.

Closing arguments are scheduled for today in Richard Hatch's tax evasion trial. The IRS contends that Hatch owes back taxes on his $1 million prize when he won the first edition of Survivor in 2000. He's also accused of not paying taxes on other income that year and of using money on himself that he had set aside for a charity.

Hatch's lawyer argued that the producers of Survivor made a deal with his client to pay taxes on his win when he caught the other castaways eating unauthorized food. But, Hatch never actually testified to that claim while he was on the stand. As for the $25,000 he was supposed to give to charity, Hatch had 3 explanations. First, he said that he put the checks in his own bank account since his charity didn't have an account. He also blamed the credit union for actually writing the checks to him, but a bank teller refutes Hatch's story. And he says the charity money he spent on renovations on his home was legit since he runs his charity, a wilderness retreat for troubled kids, out of the home. Survivor executive producer Mark Burnett testified that Hatch, just like every other Survivor contestant, signed an agreement that he would be responsible for the taxes on any winnings.
