"Pull-Out Method": Minority Leader John Boehner is having a little trouble with benchmarks and contradictions. Plus, he's not fooling anyone when he says that his name is really pronounced "Baner". I'm still trying to work out how tropical fish worked into the House... and I have a sudden craving for a bucket o' peanuts and some Pork & Flag On A Stick."Showdown at Justice: Hereunder referred to as the 'Nonvoluntary Lawyer Disemployment Program' vis a vis certain events on or around 7 December 2006 (C.F. Appendix B, Codicil IX, Paragraph 7)": Alberto Gonzalez isn't doing so hot. So, what else is new?

Mark Foley's blaming his scandal on alcohol? Holy crap. Jon's "Young Boyschlager" joke ("It's got real bits of boy in it!") was funny, but I think I like "Satan's breast milk" better. I also quite liked the word "catastrofuck"... I will have to use it sometime in the near future (perhaps in my midterm paper). Maybe Jon's feeling the pressure to coin some new words/phrases, especially after Stephen Colbert created and popularized "truthiness" and "Wikiality".Dennis Miller & Hannity & Colmes

Dennis Miller's gonna be with Fox News this fall, joining Hannity & Colmes, and will also be content provider and commentator for the network's website. Does this mean we will see Norm MacDonald one day pop up as a correspondent on Nightline? Or how about Tina Fey joining Anderson Cooper 360? Nah, just kiddin'; Dennis Miller has long ago moved over from the funny side into stone-cold punditry. Fox News is exactly where he belongs. I'd like to say "Dennis, Dennis we hardly knew you," but between his first talk show, his Hanks, Howard and Miller go on a ballpark tour
by Joel Keller, posted Jul 20th 2006 10:50AM
OK, since all three of these guys have been on TV at one time or another, and I first heard about this on TV, I think it loosely can apply here. I just think this is cool:When I was watching last night's Mets-Reds game on SportsNet NY, the camera showed Dennis Miller, Ron Howard, and Tom Hanks taking in the game, which was played in Cincinnati. The announcers mentioned they were taking a ballpark tour, and showed the massive luxury bus they were using. Well, this article confirms that. Turns out Hanks decided to take his buddies on a trip to seven parks to help celebrate his 50th birthday. They may not make all seven parks, it turns out, but they've already gone to three and will go to a few more.
Anyway, considering I try to go to a new-to-me ballpark every year (this year was U.S. Cellular in Chicago and Miller Park in Milwaukee), I absolutely love the fact that these superstars -- well, two superstars and Miller -- are doing this.
Bonnie Hunt gives television another try
by Anna Johns, posted Mar 9th 2006 10:59AM
I don't know who's more excited about this news, me
or Joel. The brilliantly funny Bonnie Hunt is
having another go at situation comedy on ABC. In her untitled project, she'll play a recently divorced woman who works
as a detective.Bonnie has convinced some powerful comedic talent to join the cast. Dennis Miller (yes, THE Dennis Miller of HBO and SNL) will co-star as Dr. Langley, Hunt's therapist. And Joe Mantegna will play Jack, her ex-husband. Both roles were meant to be guest stars only, but Bonnie reportedly talked the men into sticking around if her sitcom gets picked up by the network.
