Project Runway: Iconic Statement
by Annie Wu, posted Aug 10th 2006 11:17AM
(S03E05) This episode switched things up a bit. Instead of the other way around, the models chose the designers they wanted. Of course, some of the designers were uncomfortable with the feeling of not being in control in this situation. Their anxiety was made even worse when the designers were challenged to re-create a look for a fashion icon... a fashion icon that they'd have no say in choosing. Their models picked from a selection of icons, ranging from Madonna to Katharine Hepburn to Twiggy. Some designers were ecstatic with their assignments, others were totally clueless (cough cough, his name starts with a "B" and ends with "Radley").Trading Spaces desperately needs a host
by Anna Johns, posted Aug 5th 2006 9:27AM
Why did TLC get rid of Paige Davis? Trading Spaces, which is past its prime anyway, really stinks without a host. When I flipped on the television yesterday afternoon, it was on. So I watched. The poor designers and carpenters are tasked with not only working on one room but also 'hosting' their room, which means questioning the contestants about their tastes. Paige was good for that because she was removed from the designers, so the people on the show would open up and tell her their real feelings about room designs. And the end is terrible without someone to show off the room! It's just plain awkward as the homeowners wander around the room with hidden cameras watching them. It's uncomfortable in a not-funny way.Does anybody even watch Trading Spaces anymore?
Project Runway: Reap What You Sew
by Annie Wu, posted Aug 3rd 2006 7:27AM
(S03E04) The designers were challenged to create a three-piece outfit for the INC clothing company. The winning outfit would be sold in Macy's stores nationwide. Surprisingly, they had to work in teams of three. Gosh, we're only four episodes in and half of the challenges have been in teams! I'm not sure I like this trend... I prefer individual challenges because it's easier to judge talent. With these team challenges, one of the biggest factors in winning is being able to pass the buck.Anyway, Mehmet Tangoren from Macy's stopped by and picked the four team leaders: Robert, Bonnie, Keith, and Angela (!!!).
Project Runway: Miss USA
by Annie Wu, posted Jul 20th 2006 7:23AM
(S03E02) The absolutely stunning special guest Miss USA, Tara Conner, asked the designers to create a dress for her Miss Universe appearance. Her only requests: yes to earth-tones, no to white, backless is a plus. What an amazing opportunity! Especially this early in the game. All fourteen designers presented sketches to Tara, but she chose only seven to be created. The seven chosen designers had to pick teammates. Angela was incredibly annoying because she kept bugging at Kayne to pick her. Everyone in the room heard her, so she ended up being chosen last... by Vincent (and she had to correct him when he called her "Alison"... Insult to injury, yeah?).Horrible news involving Project Runway model

OK, here's the usual warning: I'm about to reveal something incredibly spoilerish (and sad) about Project Runway. Don't read any further if you don't want to know what happened and who it happened to! Full details after the jump.Kelly Osbourne to host British Project Runway
by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 8th 2006 3:39PM
I wasn't even aware that there was a British version of Bravo's American hit about the fashion industry. It's called Project Catwalk over there, and until now it was hosted by actress Liz Hurley. Reports say that Hurley was too wooden, so she's going to be replaced by Ozzy Osbourne's daughter Kelly.Because, when you think of style and class, you immediately think of Kelly Osbourne, right?

Project Runway 2: The Lingerie Competition
by Lacy Hall, posted Dec 22nd 2005 11:34AM
Have you ever watched your mom cook in the kitchen? You get to find out all her
little tricks, like how she puts ketchup inthe baked beans, or how the secret ingredient in her trademark casserole is
actually Cheez Whiz. Sometimes seeing how things are made takes the appeal out of them. Lingerie is the same way. It's
sexy when you skip to the end-product, but not so much when you witness all the emotional breakdowns that occur while
making a garter belt.
