How Much Longer Can ABC Keep 'Desperate Housewives' Cast From Bolting?
by Gary Susman, posted Apr 29th 2010 2:00PM
With the sixth season of 'Desperate Housewives' winding down, how much longer can the series stay on the air? Depends on the players and how long ABC can get them to stick around.According to Deadline Hollywood, the network would like another two seasons. Creator Marc Cherry has spoken of a nine-season run. But the core cast - Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, and Eva Longoria Parker - are contracted for only one more season, and so far, says Deadline, there's been little negotiation between the network and the stars about an eighth season.

Teri Hatcher Teams With Disney for GetHatched.com

Let's face it: the Internet is a man's world. It's populated by an endless supply of videos of dumbasses getting hit in the nuts, how-to guides on illegal fuel injection modifications and porno, porno, porno. Thankfully, one woman aims to change all that. Actress and 'Desperate Housewives' star Teri Hatcher is on the heels (see what I did there?) of launching her own woman-oriented website, the aptly named GetHatched.com.
So far, it looks to be a web magazine for women that provides stories from Hatcher and other contributors "that celebrates women and offers funny and real answers to life's little dilemmas and big problems." In other words, it's the Lifetime Network but it actually relates to women.
Is Dana Delany Leaving 'Desperate Housewives'?
by Gary Susman, posted Mar 3rd 2010 4:45PM
If 'Body of Evidence,' ABC's medical/crime procedural drama pilot, makes it to the fall schedule, the show's first murder victim may be Wisteria Lane divorcée Katherine Mayfair.According to the Ausiello Files, 'Desperate Housewives'' Dana Delany is in talks to play the starring role in 'Evidence.' And while ABC would have to give her time off from 'Housewives' to film the premiere hour of the series, that vacation from Wisteria Lane would surely become permanent if the network picks up the show for the fall season -- which is likely, since it comes from sibling production house ABC Studios.
TV Moment of 2009: Edie's Shocking Death on 'Desperate Housewives'
by Gary Susman, posted Dec 25th 2009 10:00AM
The sudden death of 'Desperate Housewives'' Edie Britt, a fixture on the show since day one, was indeed a shocker, but only in the most literal sense, since she died of electrocution, In other ways, it wasn't shocking at all, since the slutty realtor's impending demise had been confirmed weeks before in the entertainment press.Given the longstanding reports of tension between Nicollette Sheridan and 'Housewives' creator Marc Cherry, her abrupt departure was not a surprise. In a way, however, it was fitting, as the backstage drama matched the on-screen drama, with Sheridan the locus of whispered gossip, just like her character. As Edie herself put it, in a patented 'Housewives' post-death omniscient voiceover, she died as she'd lived, as the the town's pleasure center.

Bones (Wednesday, 8 pm, Global/Fox)
Brennan and Booth investigate remains found during a suburban block party. On a cul-de-sac. Where everyone has secret lives. Yes, basically, 'Bones' is visiting Wisteria Lane for an episode. Imagine how much faster that whole 'bones in the swimming pool' mystery would have been solved if they'd visited back in season 1.
