I'm not finding a lot of information about this, and probably wouldn't have found anything if my pal Wild Bill hadn't sent me a link to this article.

Buried within a lot of other NASCAR news is just a few words about a possible NASCAR-based sitcom being developed for FOX that will center on a "dysfunctional race team." That's the only details we have so far. The series could debut in January, but we'll let you know for sure when more information starts to pop up.

After NBC picked up the drama series Journeyman, its director, Alex Graves (The Nine, The West Wing), has inked a deal with 20th Century Fox Television that will allow him to develop another series while still serving as an executive producer on Journeyman. If the new series is picked up, he'll step away from his duties on Journeyman. If it isn't picked up, he'll stick with the show.

Journeyman, about a man (Kevin McKidd) who travels back and forth through time, was picked up for a thirteen-episode order. It was created by Kevin Falls (North Shore, The West Wing). McKidd's character, Dan, is joined by actress Moon Bloodgood as Livia, his dead fiance who is also traveling through time. Yeah, I don't quite get it either, it sounds like an odd combination of Quantum Leap and Slaughter-House Five. I was kind of hoping it was about the Eric Clapton album.

Joel Cheatwood, who helped develop programming at Headline News such as Showbiz Tonight and Glenn Beck and oversaw CNN's highest-rated series, Nancy Grace, is heading to Fox News to develop programming for both the news network and the upcoming Fox Business Channel.

According to Variety, Cheatwood has been tapped for Fox News because of his "tabloid sensibility" that he developed while working on local news in Miami, where he often led with crime stories in order to grab the attention of viewers. According to Cheatwood, news can be both "top-notch" and "fun to watch." Cheatwood used that approach to revamp Headline News, and hopes to do the same when Fox Business Channel launches.

There's not much information yet, but NBC is close to securing three new comedies set to air sometime next season. The first, I'm with Stupid, which I mentioned last month, is a re-tooling of a British series about a man who befriends a boy in a wheelchair and lives in a home for the disabled. The project is being helmed by directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly, along with Ben Silverman, who helped develop both The Office and Ugly Betty for American audiences.

Kath and Kim is based on an Australian series about a divorced mother and her daughter. Nancy Pimental, a former writer for South Park and a former co-host on Win Ben Stein's Money, penned the adaptation and will serve as executive producer with Silverman. The series, along with I'm with Stupid, is being developed for the Farrelly brother's Reveille production company.

Mike Royce, a writer for Everybody Loves Raymond and Help Me Help You recently signed on for an exclusive deal with HBO to develop shows for the cable channel. Royce's first attempt will be to develop another vehicle for Ray Romano, though he says it won't be anything like Everybody Loves Raymond. That seems like a smart move, since an analogue of Everybody Loves Raymond and HBO would go together like mayonnaise and cough medicine. Since the deal was just finalized, there's no word on exactly what the new show will be, and even Royce says he and Romano haven't come up with any ideas yet. Royce's most recent gig was as an executive producer on comedian Louis CK's failed HBO sitcom Lucky Louie. We'll have to wait and see if he has better luck with a different stand up comedian turned television actor.

Anthony LaPaglia of Without a Trace has been developing shows for CBS and FOX through his production company, Last Straw Productions. The actor is currently developing Damnation for FOX, a supernatural series created by actor Timothy Busfield about a man who thinks he's wrongly been sent to Hell and begins to harvest souls for the Devil in exchange for his freedom. Busfield is set to executive produce and direct. There's not a lot of specifics about the new series, which I assume is a drama, though this premise could easily be a comedy, as well. All I know is that it's about time Satan got some equal airtime. The Dark Prince has been sorely absent from the airwaves for too long, and frankly, I've missed him quite a bit.
