Dom Deluise dead at 75

by Bob Sassone, posted May 5th 2009 1:03PM
Dom DeluiseThere was a sitcom on for a short time in the 70s titled Lotsa Luck. It starred Dom Deluise as a single guy who lived with his overbearing mother. I remember it being the funniest thing in the world, but I was around 8 or 9 years old at the time so if I were to see it today I'm sure I'd realize that I was wrong. But I do know that I went around saying "lotsa luck!" to people for several months after the show premiered.

Deluise died last night in Los Angeles. He was 75.

Four pairs of TV celebrities I always mix up

by Bob Sassone, posted Jan 7th 2009 2:26PM
Paul McCrane and Dan Butler
Sarah Palin and Tina Fey aren't the only celebrities that people sometimes mix up. These two look a lot alike (more so when Fey has her hair a certain way, less so when she doesn't), but I often confuse two celebrities that don't even look alike in the slightest. Sometimes it's because they have similar names or have similar roles or a combination of both. Sometimes it's just because I don't see them that often and when one pops up I say to myself, "hey wait, is that _____ or _____?" Here's my list of eight people I often mix up. This must happen to you too, right?

1. Dan Butler and Paul McCrane. Both bald, both on hit NBC shows. Butler was horndog Bull on Frasier and McCrane was jerky, killed-by-copter Dr. Romano on ER. They really do look alike.

Company releases free replacement disc for Lotsa Luck

by Bob Sassone, posted May 7th 2006 1:36PM
Dom DeluiseFirst of all, they released a Lotsa Luck DVD set?! Why didn't I know this? The complete series was released last November.

Now, I'm not sure if I'll go out and buy the set (I can't even remember if the show was any good or not), but I do remember enjoying the show when I was a kid. In fact, there was an entire half year where my catch phrase was "lotsa luck," which I said in any ocassion that might have warranted the phrase (and probably a bunch that didn't). When S'More Entertainment released the set, there was a problem with the pilot episode, so they are now going to give free replacement discs to everyone who bought the set and wants one.
