John Doe coming to SciFi
by Anna Johns, posted Jan 15th 2006 9:04AM
The short-lived series John Doe is airing
on the SciFi Channel beginning next week. John Doe premiered on FOX around the same time as Firefly, and
suffered a similar fate (John Doe got a full 21 episodes). John Doe is (obviously) a science fiction series
about a guy who wakes up on an isolated island, knowing pretty much everything about the world except who he is. Doe,
played by Dominic Purcell, helps
Seattle detectives solve crimes as he searches for his own identity. It premieres on SciFi on January 20 at 9pm EST.I never saw this series when it first aired, did you? Is it good?
Prison Break looks like a winner
by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 31st 2005 1:41PM
Of course, one week of good numbers doesn't make a series a hit, but FOX's Prison Break did extremely well, scoring 10.5 million viewers for its 2-hour debut. In fact, it was the best Monday summer ratings for FOX since the Melrose Place/Ally McBeal days of the late 90s.
The show did well among men, of course, but also with women, who tuned in because they thought that since it was a prison show maybe they'd see some male nudity.
