President Obama Discusses Birth Certificate on 'Oprah' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted May 2nd 2011 6:30PM
President Barack Obama on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show'Barack and Michelle Obama sat down for a taped interview with Oprah Winfrey the day President Obama released his long-form birth certificate to the press. That interview aired Monday on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' (weekdays, syndicated). Since the interview was taped before Sunday's news about the death of Osama bin Laden, much of the conversation centered on the birther issue.

When the issue first came up, President Obama said he didn't take the controversy seriously.

"When it first came up, were you thinking, 'I hope I was born here,'" asked Winfrey. Obama said no. "I was there," he said. "It seemed unlikely that my 18-year-old mother had plotted at the time, saying, you know what, he's going to be president, so let's pay off the newspapers." While the President found it amusing, Michelle Obama was less entertained.

'Celebrity Apprentice' Week Nine Results: Who Was Eliminated? (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 2nd 2011 3:48AM
Star Jones, Hope Dworaczyk, NeNe Leakes, 'Celebrity Apprentice'This week on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (Sun., 9PM ET on NBC), while one contestant left the show, another came back, as a delayed replacement for Jose Canseco, who quit. This week featured a lot of fighting between Star Jones and NeNe Leakes, but then again that's not really anything new.

At the challenge, teams had to produce a show to promote Farouk Systems hair care products, emphasizing their safety and that they are made in America. Lil Jon was project leader for the men, who brought in eliminated contestant Niki Taylor to help them out by being gorgeous and having gorgeous hair, and she did just that.

Eliminated Contestant Returns to the Game on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 2nd 2011 2:41AM
Donald Trump, 'Celebrity Apprentice'In eleven seasons, Donald Trump has never gone back on a firing. Sure, some of them have made almost no sense to viewers at home, but he's stuck to his guns every time. We're not sure if other fired contestants have come back asking to be allowed back in the game, but it happened this week on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (Sun. 9PM ET on NBC).

This contestant felt there wasn't sufficient ground for being fired. "I want to come back because I want to show my strength. I want to prove my ability," they said in a private meeting with Trump in his office.

As a caveat for their return, the person requested they be allowed to work on the opposite team from the one they got fired from. At the board room, Trump surprised everyone by doing just that.

Jon Stewart: Obama Birth Certificate Reveal a 'Non-shell' (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Apr 28th 2011 11:40AM
The Daily ShowOn 'The Daily Show' (weekdays, 11 PM ET on Comedy Central), Jon Stewart played clips of media figures breathlessly using words like "stunning," "shocking" and "bombshell" to describe the release of Barack Obama's long-form birth certificate.

"I don't want to nitpick," Stewart said, in reaction to the breathlessness. "But wouldn't the bombshell have been him not being born in America? Isn't this one more of a non-shell?"

"Like, if he had come out and said, 'I have lady parts' -- like that, but this is sort of non-shell," Stewart repeated, coining a phrase that could describe a lot of things that the media breathlessly reports on these day.

Jon Stewart Calls Out Media For Relentless Coverage of Donald Trump (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Apr 26th 2011 1:45PM
On 'The Daily Show' (weekdays, 11 PM ET on Comedy Central), John Stewart called the media for paying too much attention to the bizarre political posturing of Donald Trump.

"They have to put Donald on every show, spewing the craziest s--t he can think of, because Donald's poll numbers are high, mostly because they keep putting on television to spew the craziest s--t he can think of," Steward explained.

Bill Maher and Letterman Argue Over Whether Trump Is Really Running for President (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 26th 2011 3:35AM
Bill Maher, 'Late Show with David Letterman'Is Donald Trump really running for President? Bill Maher thinks so, but on 'Late Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS) he found himself arguing with David Letterman about the legitimacy of the whole thing.

"He's absolutely not running," Letterman said. To emphasize how much he believed it, he said he wished he could put money on it with somebody. Letterman said he knows people on the inside who say the whole thing's a massive joke.

That's not to say that Maher is taking Trump seriously as a candidate, though. He simply believes Trump is truly running.

Why Donald Trump Wants Star Jones to Go Far on 'The Celebrity Apprentice'

by Joel Keller, posted Apr 25th 2011 4:00PM
'The Celebrity Apprentice' women's team presents Trump hotel campaign
This is far from the first time I've written these words, but I'm going to write them again: 'The Apprentice' is a sham of a competition, and it's because Donald Trump is the only one who determines who stays and who goes.

It's not like other competition shows, where a panel of judges have to come to some sort of consensus, or a voting show where the person who gets the fewest phoned-in, online and text votes goes home. No, the sorta-kinda-almost 2012 presidential candidate is the lone arbiter of whom gets fired, and he has often used weird rationales to fire someone who didn't necessarily deserve it, especially on the celebrity edition of the show (just ask Khloe Kardashian).

Trump used one of those rationales last night to fire La Toya Jackson. It was almost predictable. Even though Star Jones fumbled badly as the losing team's leader in last night's task, there was no way in hell she was ever going home. Why? Because Trump knows a good player when he sees one.

Donald Trump Hits Back at Robert De Niro: 'Not the Brightest Bulb on the Planet' (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Apr 25th 2011 2:00PM
Over the weekend Robert De Niro had some harsh words for Donald Trump, comparing him to a used-car salesman for his constant questioning of Barack Obama's birthplace.

Of course, Trump jumped at the opportunity to respond to De Niro's criticism when it was brought up during a phone interview he did Monday on 'Fox & Friends' (weekdays, 6 AM ET on Fox News)

"Well, he's not the brightest bulb in the planet," Trump said of De Niro. "I have been watching him over the years and I like his acting but in terms of when I watch him doing interviews and various other things, we are not dealing with Albert Einstein."

Donald Trump Talks Running for President on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 25th 2011 1:20AM
Donald Trump, 'Celebrity Apprentice'While it probably wasn't the most impartial of groups, Donald Trump nevertheless decided to talk about his possible Presidential nod with the remaining contestants on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (Sun., 9PM ET on NBC). He asked the contestants if they would vote for him, and Meat Loaf took it one step further.

"I would vote for you," he said. "In fact, I'll help you with your campaign."

Trump even asked them point-blank which of them would not vote for him.

"A hot hint," Ivanka Trump said. "Don't raise your hand."

This prompted an angry response from Trump, in which he stated the children of St. Jude are "very disappointed" and blasted Seinfeld for his "failed" show 'The Marriage Ref.'

Robin Williams Demands to See Donald Trump's Hairline (VIDEO)

Robin Williams on 'The View' Once Robin Williams gets going, it can be tough to slow him down. Such was the case today, when he stopped by 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) and Joy Behar promptly asked him about Donald Trump. Williams took over from there, joking about what a Trump presidency might actually look like, and aiming some barbs directly at his hair.

Williams imagined that if elected, Trump would turn the White House into a casino, and theorized that his hair may be a sentient being that controls him. "I believe the hair is actually The Donald," he said. "That's actually the creature." He pictured Trump getting home in the evening and the hair asking him questions. "How are we doing today? Who shall we marry next?"

Gary Busey on 'The Wendy Williams Show'Donald Trump may have fired Gary Busey on 'Celebrity Apprentice,' but today on 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated), Busey backed Trump for president.

"He's a great man," said Busey. "He's got an awareness level that's very high, and I'm going to vote for him for president, and I suggest you all do. Because he has the wherewithal to turn this country over, turn the dump over, get out of where we are now."

Busey added that although he respects the sitting president, he thinks there has been a "con job," and that nothing President Obama promised has happened. We're pretty sure Busey's just angling for a VP nomination.

Donald Trump, 'Celebrity Apprentice'It's been no secret that Meat Loaf has been struggling with various aspects of his time on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (Sun., 9PM on NBC). But the greatest source of frustration for him has been Gary Busey.

Almost from the beginning, the two of them have not gotten along. It even culminated in a largely undeserved and disturbing expletive-filled freak-out by Meat Loaf toward Busey over art supplies.

This week, Busey was the project manager for team Backbone in a 20-minute live cooking demonstration. Could Backbone pull it together and stop their losing skid at two weeks in a row, or was it back to the Boardroom?

Tracy Morgan Talks Trump, Obama on 'Daily'During the first half of 'The Daily Show' (weekdays, 11PM ET on Comedy Central), one of Jon Stewart's bits involved the news that Donald Trump has sent investigators to Hawaii to look into Barack Obama's birth.

'Daily Show' guest Tracy Morgan must have been watching in the dressing room, because when he joined Stewart onstage, Morgan had a message for The Donald. "I just want to reply to the Donald Trump thing," Morgan said. "Donald, I got [Obama's birth] certificate. It ain't in Hawaii, it's in Brooklyn. Come and get it if you want to see it."

Then Morgan claimed that he had people investigating Trump, and that his investigators had discovered Trump had fathered a child in Harlem that he doesn't acknowledge.
