Worst TV Shows of the 2000s

by Kim Potts, posted Dec 11th 2009 6:00AM

There was no shortage of truly great TV shows this decade -- but there was no dearth of really bad TV, either.

From talking babies and singing-and-dancing casino moguls to ill-conceived celebrity ventures into reality programming and scripted fare ... and whatever category you want to put the inexplicably enduring 'According to Jim' in, here are our picks for the worst TV the networks offered up to us in the last 10 years.

Ask TV Squad: What was the theme to Dr. Vegas?

by Adam Finley, posted Aug 8th 2006 5:31PM

dr. vegasReader Shannon sent us an e-mail asking:

Please help! I couldn't find anywhere to ask this. Does anyone know the theme song to the short running show Mr. Vegas with Rob Lowe?

Why yes, Shannon, we do. First of all, it was Dr. Vegas, not Mr. Vegas, but no worries, we knew what you meant. The song you're wondering about is a rollicking and infectious ditty by Stereo MCs called "Connected" off the album of the same name. I can't blame you for wondering about it, that song is going to be stuck in my head like taffy for the rest of the day. Here's the music video for the song, courtesy of YouTube. The theme was actually hand-picked by star Rob Lowe, who figured the catchy song would entice people to stay tuned in for the show. His plan worked, and people did stay tuned ... for about five episodes.

And now, a post about the girl in those Mercury commercials

by Bob Sassone, posted Mar 26th 2006 2:22PM
Jill WagnerI've been in love with this woman for over a year now. The girl in the tight blue sweater that talks about how great the cars are. Until now, I didn't have any idea who she was or where she came from. I just knew that I never changed the channel whenever her commercials came on.

But now thanks to Google (a cache actually; the original page didn't come up), I find out that her name is Jill Wagner. She was born in Winston-Salem, NC, has a business degree from North Carolina State University, and has been an actress in Not Just Another Teen Movie, Big Fat Liar, Punk'd, Dr. Vegas, and Monk. She has a role in the upcoming TV series version of the Blade flicks.

Wow, she's going to be on every single week now? Hey Keith, can I review this show?
