Nick teen joins cast of SyFy's Warehouse 13
Despite its somewhat generic sounding premise – two Secret Service agents investigate paranormal activity while hunting for strange artifacts – I'm really looking forward to Warehouse 13.The upcoming SyFy series has a great cast, including Saul Rubinek, CCH Pounder and constant TV guest stars Joanne Kelly and Eddie McClintock as the Secret Service agents. It's also got a promising geeky pedigree: Farscape producer Rockne S. O'Bannon created it and Jane Espenson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica) wrote the pilot episode.
Now, 19-year old actor Allison Scagliotti (Nickelodeon's Drake & Josh) has been cast as a "young, hip, brilliant techno-wiz." Usually, the addition of a "young, hip" anything to a show's cast would be cause for alarm, but I trust Espenson and O'Bannon. These two, especially Espenson, are well known for their witty and original scripts. I expect Scagliotti's character to be a lot more interesting than her character description.
Warehouse 13 debuts with a two-hour premiere July 7 on SyFy.

The kids, they love Jack Black
I'm guessing that we'll see
the School of Rock version of Jack Black, rather than the Tenacious D version when he hosts Nickelodeon's 19th
annual Kids' Choice Awards on April 1. I'm pretty sure F*** Her Gently isn't considered
family-friendly. Black says of the honor, "I have a lot of secret plans for when I host the awards, but I can tell
you I'm going to bring the super-duper, freaky-deaky, ultra-clowny super dance!" That man is going to drive those
kids wild.Voting begins on March 6 at Nickelodeon's website. A few nominees in the television category are after the jump, or you can check out the full list (including movies) here. Let's just say it ain't the Oscars. And that's OK.
Drake Bell seriously injured in car crash
One of
the stars of Drake and Josh, Drake Bell, was seriously injured in a car crash on
Thursday evening. He and a passenger were waiting in a left-turn lane when a car hit them head-on. Bell's injuries are
serious but not life-threatening... They include a fractured neck, a broken jaw, facial lacerations, and knocked-out
teeth. He will reportedly undergo plastic and dental surgery soon. Bell was still in the process of shooting the fourth
season of Drake and Josh. It's absolutely terrifying to hear about someone getting so badly hurt in an accident when they weren't being reckless. In case you don't know who he is (because you aren't subjected daily to pre-teen programming like I am), Drake and Josh is a really popular show on Nickelodeon (not to mention one of the slightly-watchable ones)... Hopefully, he recovers and can return to work. I know a lot of fans are devastated.
