Dog the Bounty Hunter producers sued
by Kristin Sample, posted May 22nd 2008 8:38AM
As A&E's Dog the Bounty Hunter begins filming it's fifth season, Boris Krutonug sues the network for royalties, salary and other compensation for season four. The actor who appeared in The Hunt for Red October and Air Force One filed papers in Manhattan at the state Supreme Court and said he's the shows creator and co-executive producer. Furthermore, he wants $5 million in damages. Krutonug says that David Hout and his companies Hybrid Films and D&D Television Productions breached contract with him. Apparently, in 1995, Krutonug introduced himself to Dog and, believing Dog's life and work would make a great film or TV show, signed papers for exclusive rights. According to the court papers, Krutonog developed the show between 1995 and 2003. And to get permission to produce and air the show, A&E agreed to pay Boris Krutonog as a co-executive producer for the duration of the program. Dan Silberman, the spokesperson for the network, said he could not comment at this time.
Production halted on Dog the Bounty Hunter
by Anna Johns, posted Nov 1st 2007 8:05AM
Duane "Dog" Chapman is in a heap of trouble over some horribly racist comments he made. They're so bad that A&E has halted production on Dog the Bounty Hunter while the network investigates the matter. Here's the story: The National Enquirer magazine has audio tapes where Chapman uses the 'N' word repeatedly and tells his son not to date black girls. Somehow, the magazine acquired a tape of a phone call between "Dog" and his son.
Chapman won't talk about it, but he did send his pastor out to calm down the media. Pastor Tim Storey, called "the pastor to the stars" by USA Today, said "Dog" cried for 30 minutes about it, saying "Can you believe, Tim, that I'm going to be put in the same category as Imus." Storey said that "Dog's" excuse was that he was mad at his son about his relationship with some girl.
