Apprentice Bill Rancic is engaged to E! host

by Anna Johns, posted Dec 17th 2006 3:39PM
bill rancic; giuliana depandiBill Rancic, the very first winner of The Apprentice, is engaged to Giuliana DePandi, co-host of E! News and nemesis of Ryan Seacrest. The two met in 2004 when DePandi interviewed Rancic after his bib win, but they didn't become romantically involved until earlier this year when they reunited at a charity event.

E! reports that Bill popped the question by taking DePandi on a helicopter ride over his hometown of Chicago, then treating her to deep-dish pizza, chocolate cake and champagne.

Bill is still working for Donald Trump, in various capacities. His newest job is to play 'sidekick' to Trump on the next edition of The Apprentice, which premieres on NBC on January 7.

Seacrest debuts on E! News tonight

by Adam Finley, posted Mar 13th 2006 1:32PM

ryan seacrestAs Anna mentioned previously, Ryan Seacrest, the hardest working metrosexual in show business, signed on with E! News as a co-anchor and managing editor. Well, tonight is his big debut, so we'll get to see just how adept he is at making the trivial sound exciting, which is pretty much the only criteria for being an entertainment reporter: "Queen Latifah was seen yesterday wearing a BLUE HAT!" Oh yeah, Idol fans need not worry. Seacrest is still sticking with the show, as well as his many other TV and radio duties. Of course, now the question is how long Seacrest can maintain this workload before he actually loses his mind on the air. I think I just gave myself a reason to tune in.

Seacrest signs deal with E!

by Anna Johns, posted Jan 3rd 2006 7:32PM
Ryan Seacrest's plan for world domination is nearly complete. He just signed a deal to executive produce and host E!'s Live from the Red Carpet, starting with the Golden Globes on January 16. He'll be the main host with roaming reporters Isaac Mizrahi and Giuliana DePandi actually down on the red carpet as celebrities start to arrive. But wait! There's more. In March, Seacrest will also become managing editor and co-anchor of E! News, a daily celebrity newscast on the entertainment channel currently hosted by Giuliana DePandi. As part of the deal, Seacrest will also produce and host celebrity interviews for E!. All of this is in addition to his hosting duties for American Idol and his M-F job as a DJ at a Los Angeles radio station and also as the host of American Top 40 radio show. Do you think he has it in his contract that he gets to say "Seacrest Out" at the end of each broadcast? Ah, well. One Ryan Seacrest is a heck of a lot better than Star Jones, or Joan and Melissa Rivers.

No more Kathy or Star for E!

by Annie Wu, posted Dec 22nd 2005 2:13PM
E! lost Joan and Melissa Rivers last year, leaving a tacky, tacky void in their red carpet coverage. Then they picked up Star Jones (who sucked up to the celebrities so much that the carpet was clean by the time she left) and Kathy Griffin to take over, but that went over less than brilliantly (Jones annoyed the hell out of everyone and Griffin got E! in trouble when she made a joke about Dakota Fanning going to rehab, prompting Fanning's reps to sue the network).
