'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) is a news and talk show, not a game show, which has never been more apparent than Friday's Earth Day Quiz segment, featuring contestants Hoda Kotb and Billy Ray Cyrus.

Kotb and Cyrus never seemed quite sure what they were doing or what the questions were. They each gave the same wrong answer to one question, and Cyrus seemed reluctant to use his buzzer, randomly shouting answers. When presented with two chopping blocks, one plastic and one wood, Kotb asked, "For what?" When asked which item - drier lint, moldy bread, tea bags, or Cheez Whiz - shouldn't make your compost pile, Cyrus shouted "tea bread."

It was like watching the 'Celebrity Jeopardy' parody on 'Saturday Night Live.'
