Lindsay Lohan's eHarmony ad - VIDEO
by Brad Trechak, posted Apr 15th 2009 11:26AM
Funny or Die has done it again. This time, they got Lindsay Lohan (former Ugly Betty guest star, among other accomplishments) to participate in a mock eHarmony ad in which she tries to find herself a date. At least, I think it's a mock ad.The first thought I had watching the "ad" is how deep and gravelly her voice sounds. Some guys like that, but to me it's a symptom of too many cigarettes.
The video itself is pretty funny. I guess her only choice for career salvation is a self-mocking video on a comedy website. I note the irony of having a lesbian promote a website that historically been pretty conservative and unfriendly to the gay community. At least, I think she's a lesbian. She was dating a woman, but now I don't know. I don't read the gossip magazines.
Next, Funny or Die should do a JDate ad from Mel Gibson.
As usual, the video is after the jump.
Did you know they show Newlywed Game ads during the eHarmony show?
by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 7th 2009 9:06AM
GSN debuted its new version of The Newlywed Game last night. At least, I think they did. It might have been a 30-minute-long infomercial for eHarmony with a game show scattered here and there. If you haven't heard, the show is brought to you by eHarmony, the web site where people find love and happiness. If for some reason you tuned into the show and forgot that it was brought to you by the dating web site, then the many commercials for it would have reminded you.
If you still weren't quite sure who sponsored the show, the eHarmony question that host Carnie Wilson reads during the game would remind you. Still not sure? Then the eHarmony.com logo that is on every single card that the contestants hold up several times during the game are a dead giveaway.
The TV Squad Interview: Lisa Loeb, Part 2
by Joel Keller, posted Feb 24th 2006 8:55AM
If there is one thing about Lisa
Loeb I took away from our interview, it's this: she really, really likes to hook people up. I wouldn't be
surprised if in an earlier life she was a village matchmaker somewhere in Eastern Europe. She'll definitely make a
great bubbe someday, albeit one with a funky pair of glasses.Anyway, in Part 1 of this interview, Lisa and I talked about her new show on E!, #1 Single, talking to Howard Stern, and a little about eggs and cheese. Today, things start to get a little odd. I don't know what prompted Lisa to turn the tables on me; it could have been a little bit of boredom, burnout from publicity overload, or she was truly interested in my singlehood. It doesn't matter. Let's just say that about halfway though the interview, things started to get really interesting.
But first, a little discussion about eyewear:
