Elizabeth Edwards Talks to Larry King About Cancer, Life Without a ManWell, Larry King may be retiring from his job as host of 'Larry King Live' (weeknights, 9PM ET on CNN). But that doesn't mean that he can't still have fascinating guests on his show. On the latest episode, King welcomes Elizabeth Edwards, the soon-to-be ex-wife of former presidential candidate John Edwards.

Elizabeth has been fighting a much publicized battle against breast cancer. And famously, her husband John cheated on her with another woman, leading to their pending divorce. While talking with Larry, Elizabeth discussed her struggles with the disease -- and what it felt like to no longer have a man in her life.

Larry asked Edwards about the topic of "affection." Elizabeth had this to say: "That does make sad, to think that I may live out the rest of my days ... without someone ... holding me."

Oprah Lays Into Andrew Young About John Edwards Scandal (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Feb 24th 2010 10:48PM
Oprah Winfrey, Andrew Young, John EdwardsThe John Edwards scandal just gets better – or worse, depending on your perspective – by the minute. His former campaign aid Andrew Young appeared on 'Oprah Winfrey' (weekdays, syndicated) to talk about the scandal, as well as his book 'The Politician.'

Oprah Winfrey did not cut him any slack. "A lot of people would take a fall for people, but this, to me, was bigger than that," she said. "It wasn't just about taking a fall for John Edwards, it was about literally deceiving every American who was going to vote for him."

Young was definitely in an interesting situation. Where does his job leave off and his sense of moral duty to the country -- and Elizabeth Edwards -- begin?

Margulies doesn't think Patti Blagojevich is a Good Wife - TCA Report

by Joel Keller, posted Aug 3rd 2009 3:44PM
Juilanna Margulies @ the 2009 TCAsIn her TCA session to promote her new CBS show The Good Wife, about the wife of a state attorney who tries to build her life and career after her husband has a Spitzer/Sanford/Edwards kind of downfall, Julianna Margulies was asked if she thought Rod Blagojevich should count in the pantheon of "Good Wives."

She said that Mrs. Blago's situation was different because her husband cheated on the people of his state, not on his wife. "Then she goes on a reality show. I mean... god..."

OK, so Mrs. Blago doesn't belong in the same company as Silda Spitzer and Elizabeth Edwards. Would any of them be willing to give her advice on how to play the role of a wronged political wife? "I think all those women are too classy to grumble about anything."

Viewers rip Katie Couric's interview with John and Elizabeth Edwards

by Joel Keller, posted Mar 26th 2007 7:39PM
Katie Couric with John and Elizabeth EdwardsKatie Couric can't win, can she? Her version of the CBS Evening News is consistently criticized for being too nice, happy, and morning-show-like. But when Katie gets down to business and does a serious interview with someone, she's knocked for being inappropriately stern.

That's what Couric is facing the day after her 60 Minutes interview with presidential candidate John Edwards and his wife Elizabeth. During the interview, Couric asked the couple tough questions about whether it was wise for the Edwardses to continue on the campaign trail now that Elizabeth's cancer has metastasized and become inoperable. Instead of proceeding in her usual warm, smiling manner, Couric decided to be deadly serious, keeping a straight face and pursuing lines of questioning that started with "Some say," like when she said to the couple, "Some have suggested that you're capitalizing on this."

After CBSNews.com posted the interview and allowed viewer comments, many took Couric to task for not being understanding enough, especially given her family history (her husband died of colon cancer in 1998).
