Battlestar Galactica star coming to Heroes

by Bob Sassone, posted Nov 13th 2009 3:03PM
HeroesQuestion: is it possible for Heroes to add enough actors and actresses from cool, hip shows so it also becomes cool and hip again?

Kate Vernon, who played Ellen Tigh (and a Cylon - hope that wasn't a spoiler!) on the Battlestar Galactica remake, is joining the cast of the NBC show. Greg Grunberg first unveiled the news on his Twitter account a couple of days ago. Seems like that's where a lot of breaking news happens nowadays, eh?

A little bit of BSG's The Plan

by Brad Trechak, posted Jun 15th 2009 12:02PM
Battlestar GalacticaSomeone was pointing their camcorder at their television screen at some point and managed to catch a brief of the upcoming Battlestar Galactica prequel TV movie The Plan, which delves into the entire Cylon plan that was the premise of the whole series.

It appears to be a brief scene between Dean Stockwell's Cavil character and Kate Vernon's Ellen Tigh in which Cavil is discussing the concept of resurrection.

While I appreciate being able to see the clip, I wonder who had their video camera aimed at the television at just the right moment this past Friday night? We're far past the age of Kinoscope. Hadn't they ever heard of DVRs? I'm sure better quality copies will be available soon, if not already.

Seeing the clip does make me yearn for more Battlestar Galactica episodes, even if some found the series' ending to be disappointing. It's a pity that we have to wait until November.

Bring out your dead TV Characters for 2006

. . . twelve killed-off characters

Nothing says Christmas like the mention of a dozen (or so) characters that met their maker this past year. Here they are, in no particular order.

  • Ellen Tigh, Battlestar Galactica -- Ellen meant well, of course . . . sleeping with one of the Cylons occupying New Caprica to ensure the safety of her husband Saul. But, she went too far to keep her husband safe and paid for it with her life. To make it even worse, Saul was the one who killed her by having her drink a beverage filled with poison.

Did Ellen know? Battlestar Galactica's Ron Moore speaks

by Keith McDuffee, posted Oct 26th 2006 4:27PM
ellen tighOver in my review of the latest episode of Battlestar Galactica there's quite a bit of brouhaha going on amongst the commenters about whether or not Saul Tigh's wife, Ellen, knew she was being poisoned. I will admit, to the casual observer it sure seems like she doesn't know. Though once the debate started, it did create need for pause.

In Ron Moore's most recent podcast, the Battlestar Galactica executive producer only managed to fuel the fire by saying: "Does she know? I think she might know." Might? Did? I had to get to the bottom of this, so I asked the man himself. See what he had to say after the jump.
