Alan Simpson Hates 'Snoopy Snoopy Poop Dogg' and the 'Enema Man' (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Mar 8th 2011 3:00PM
Alan Simpson, the former senator from Wyoming who currently co-chairs Barack Obama's debt commission, has drawn the ire of senior citizens by proposing changes to Social Security.

Appearing on 'Your World With Neil Cavuto' (weekdays, 4PM ET on Fox News), Simpson struck back at those critics, claiming they don't care about their grandchildren's financial future. However, in sticking up for the younger generation, Simpson made hilarious scatological additions to the names of hip-hop stars Snoop Dogg and Eminem.

"If they care at all about their children or grandchildren -- and sometimes I doubt that -- I think, you know, grandchildren now don't write a thank you for the Christmas presents. They're walking on their pants with the cap on backwards listening to the Enema Man and Snoopy Snoopy Poop Dogg, and they don't like 'em."

by Ryan McKee, posted Feb 14th 2011 12:15AM
Grammys 2011
This is TV Squad. We don't pretend to have a deep understanding of music and the hottest new artists. However, when the music industry decides to fill three hours of television time with their awards show, we feel an obligation to offer our opinion about it.

The performances were mostly great and the presenters were as awkward and cheesy as always. What follows is a recap from TV writer's point of view, someone who finds pleasure in watching huge television events and making snarky comments to an empty living room.

Jeff Bridges hosted 'SNL' on 12/18/10['Saturday Night Live' - 'Season 36, Episode 10']

Nothing says "I was in a huge comedy film, then disappeared for a while (unless you count 'K-Pax'), only to resurface in an obscurish low budget buzz worthy film to get that street cred (and Oscar) back and parlay it into a second career: including two gargantuan holiday releases" more than a 'Saturday Night Live' hosting nod.

Jeff Bridges
knows this better than anyone, and we're about to find out if he's still got any "Dude" left in him.

Stevie Wonder Names the Grammy Nominees for Best Album of the YearThe 53rd annual Grammy Awards are just around the corner! Last night's 'Grammy Nomination Concert' (Wed., 10PM ET on CBS) revealed who would compete for the top musical award in the nation. The biggest prize: Best Album of the Year. Legendary performer Stevie Wonder read off the list of nominees -- and he gave us a little history lesson, which included himself.

Stevie said that in the past, the Best Album award has gone to the greatest performers. The award went to some true geniuses, "from Frank Sinatra, to the Beatles, to Michael Jackson, to U2, to Stevie Wond ... " Whoops. There was a brief surprised pause, and then he added: " ... Stevie Wonder?"

Okay, we know that Stevie wasn't reading from cue cards -- so he had his remarks memorized, and wasn't actually surprised. But if anyone's won the right to plug himself a little, it's Stevie. The singer-songwriter has won 22 Grammys in his lifetime, tying him with U2, and placing him 5th on the all-time list of winners.

And now, your list of Grammy Best Album nominees are ...

Lady Gaga Wins a Record Eight Times at 'MTV VMAs,' Accepts Award While Wearing a 'Meat Dress'It was a very Lady Gaga kind of night at the '2010 MTV Video Music Awards' (Sun., 6PM ET on MTV). The singer, who wore a meat dress,
walked away with an unprecedented eight awards -- including what was essentially the grand prize; the "Video of the Year" award for her song 'Bad Romance.'

Gaga changed outfits three times during the show, but received the most attention for her final ensemble: a dress (and purse) made entirely out of meat. Hopefully, the "meat" was fake, not real ... but you never know with Ms. Gaga.

Iconic 64-year-old performer Cher handed out the final award to Gaga in her meat dress. Cher quipped that she was the oldest person at the show with "the biggest hair and the littlest costume."

Chris Brown Tries for Redemption at the 'BET Awards 2010'The 'BET Awards 2010' (Sun., 8PM ET on BET) took place tonight. The show featured performances by Alicia Keys, Enimem, and Drake. Among the nominees for awards were Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Jay-Z, as well as many others.

Kanye West also showed up to perform -- in one of his first high-profile events since notoriously interrupting Taylor Swift at the 'MTV Video Music Awards.'

But the highlight of the show was an performance by Chris Brown, who paid tribute to Michael Jackson. Brown famously pled guilty last year for assaulting his girlfriend Rihanna, and ever since then, his sales and reputation have suffered. But he appeared to make a stab at redemption with his emotional rendition of several of Michael Jackson's hit songs -- including 'Billie Jean' and 'Man in the Mirror.' At the close of his performance, Brown broke down into tears. Were they tears of remorse for what he had done to Rihanna?

Mariah Carey Talks Eminem Feud on 'Late Show with David Letterman' (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Nov 16th 2009 12:05PM
Mariah Carey had plenty to say on 'The Late Show with David Letterman' about her long-standing feud with rapper Eminem. The feud dates back to 2001 and includes public insults, dis-filled songs, and even allegations by Eminem that he was in possession of explicit voicemails left by Carey.

"He continuously references me. I don't know why. So, I wrote a song that's really an anthem for all little girls ... who get their ponytail pulled or get abused because the boy really is in love with them and they can't be with them," Carey told Letterman, referring to her single 'Obsessed.' "The song is not about anybody, and yet it could be about anybody."

Get down to the bumping bass of 'SuvwI'pu' qan tu'lu'be'

If you thought the phlegm filled syllables of the Klingon language couldn't make ordinary human music sound as sweet as the innocent cheeps of a nest of newborn birds, then you'd be right.

Klenginem, a member of the Klingon tribe (I don't know what the politically correct term for Klingon is these days, Romulan-Americans?), has turned Eminem's self-serving ditty "Without Me" into a self-serving Klingon ditty.

Don't try and sing along if you aren't fluent in the words of the warrior, or it will turn your esophagus inside out.

Why has this "Bruno" vs. Eminem thing been in the news all week?

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 4th 2009 1:07PM
Sacha Baron Cohen and Eminem and the 2009 MTV Movie AwardsI was fine with the initial story that it may have been a hoax, because it was news. After all the stunt Sacha "Bruno" Baron Cohen pulled putting his ass in the notoriously sensitive Eminem's face was the big buzz moment of the MTV Movie Awards. But it didn't stop there. Finally, after speculation and reports all week about it, Eminem admitted it was a stunt. Fine. Great. Does this mean it's over? I can't tell you how many "news" stories I read about this.

Everyone had their own take on it. You'd have thought it was the JFK assassination all over again. "There was one shooter with a camera zoomed in on Eminem's face. That's the only person who knew what was happening." "Impossible. Who worked the rig that lowered Cohen? Clearly there was a conspiracy." "But Eminem had to have been in on that conspiracy. Can you really lower a man on top of someone without them knowing it." "Perhaps, but did Em know Cohen's ass was bare." "Oh I think he most certainly did." Who cares, honestly?!

Bruno and Eminem's ass face prank was a hoax

by Danny Gallagher, posted Jun 2nd 2009 9:03AM
Sasha Baron Cohen at the MTV Movie AwardsIt looks like Eminem wasn't the real butt of Sacha Baron Cohen's prank at the MTV Movie Awards. (And yes, I do get paid by AOL to write jokes. God bless the writer's strike!)

Entertainment Weekly confirmed from an unidentified source close to the network that Cohen said the prank was staged and that Eminem wasn't really mad that he got a face full of ass.

EW also reported that Scott Aukerman, the show's head writer who comedy geeks will recognize as a Mr. Show actor/writer and one-half of the comedy duo The Fun Bunch, leaked the news on his blog. That entry seemed to have disappeared from his blog as fast as Eminem's ass-smelling face from the awards show.
