Jeremy Piven Gets 'Tonight Show' Page He Pranked an 'Entourage' Cameo (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 4th 2011 9:30AM
Jeremy Piven, 'The Tonight Show'The last time Jeremy Piven appeared on 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC), he played a prank on one of the pages -- who did remind us a bit of Kenneth from '30 Rock' -- that had the poor guy standing in the hall terrified.

Piven pretended to have a full-blown Hollywood superstar tantrum about there being sushi in his dressing room. But afterward he felt bad about it, so he decided to help the guy out with his dreams of being in show business.

He pulled some strings down at 'Entourage' and managed to get the guy a part on the show, and it is definitely something to see. Jay Leno managed to squeeze in the page's entire scene during 'The Tonight Show,' with an arrow to help us identify him. Taking Hollywood by storm, this guy!

MTV's Johnny Bananas Sues HBO, 'Entourage' Over 'Johnny's Bananas'

by Alex Moaba, posted Aug 3rd 2011 4:15PM
Johnny 'Bananas' Devenanzio, a veteran of MTV's 'Real World: Key West' who's currently participating in 'The Challenge: Rivals,' is accusing HBO's 'Entourage' of some serious monkey business.

He's reportedly sent the network a cease & desist notice, and is threatening to sue for copyright infringement over the name of Johnny Drama's gorilla cartoon show 'Johnny's Bananas,' a central plotline on the new season of 'Entourage.'

Devenanzio has hired attorney Stephanie Ovadia, the lawyer who represented Lindsay Lohan in her suit against the E-Trade for a commercial that she claimed used her likeness.

In a series of tweets, Devenanzio, whose Twitter handle is @MTVBananas, explained why he's taking legal action.

Ari Flips Out After Learning His Wife's Dating Bobby Flay on 'Entourage' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 1st 2011 6:44AM
'Entourage' - 'Out With a Bang'An angry Ari can be a very dangerous thing on 'Entourage' (Sun., 10:30PM ET on HBO). Just ask the poor waiter who got in his crosshairs for ... well, for doing nothing as it turns out. Ari only thought he was the mystery guy his wife is dating. For that, Ari ruined his 'Mad Men' audition.

Later, he found out the reason she was going to that restaurant -- one that he loves -- is because she's dating it's owner, one Bobby Flay. Small consolation for the waiter, but Ari's got bigger fish to fry now.

On the one hand, it's great that he doesn't have to be humiliated because she's dating someone as lowly as a waiter, but on the other hand it's his duty (for some reason) to despise whomever she dates. And because he cannot calm down and be mature about it, he instead informs his staff that as Bobby Flay is now his enemy number one, he must also be their enemy number one.

'How to Make It In America' Season 2 Trailer: Hustlin', Hijinks & Hook-Ups (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Jul 26th 2011 4:15PM
Fear not, fans of HBO-produced half-hour comedies centered around a group of male friends trying to come up in the world. Just as 'Entourage' will be finishing its eight season run, Season 2 of 'How to Make It in America' is poised to pick up the slack.

In a new 1-minute trailer -- a fast-paced montage -- we can spot a few new plot developments emerging. It starts off with Ben and Cam (Victor Rasuk) re-entering the country through airport customs, which could mean they took a business trip to Japan, where Crisp NYC gained a foothold last season. It also looks like rapper Kid Cudi might have an expanded role this year; at one point his character kisses Rachel (Lake Bell), Ben's (Bryan Greenberg) on-again and off-again ex-girlfriend, which is bound to cause some conflict. It looks like they open a Crisp storefront, and other than that, there's a lot of clinking beer bottles, launching of hair-brained schemes and parties filled with models.

Check out the trailer after the jump. 'How to Make It in America' returns to HBO this fall.

Bobby Flay Talks About Dating Mrs. Ari on 'Entourage' (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Jul 26th 2011 12:15PM
Celebrity chef Bobby Flay was sitting in for Hoda Kotb on Tuesday, co-hosting the fourth hour of 'Today' (weekdays, 7 AM ET on NBC) with Kathie Lee Gifford. He'll also be sitting in for Ari Gold, at least with with Mrs. Ari, on the new season of 'Entourage.' Flay previewed his multi-episode arc in the final season of HBO's hit half-hour Hollywood comedy, which will put him at odds with the frenetic agent Ari Gold, played by Jeremy Piven.

"My character, as Bobby Flay, has not actually appeared yet ... I can not confirm nor deny that I am a candidate for Mrs. Ari's next boyfriend. 'Cause you know they broke up."

"I don't know why she stuck around so long," replied Kathie Lee.

"Well, who knows, he's got a big agency," Flay quipped.

'Entourage' Premiere: Johnny Drama Sweeps the House for Drugs and Alcohol (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 25th 2011 1:45AM
'Entourage' final season premiereIt's a new season, and the last season of 'Entourage' (Sun., 10:30PM ET on HBO). Vince is coming home from rehab, so why not usher in the new season with a clean house. And by clean, we mean clean of any and all drugs.

This includes Advil, according to Johnny Drama. While Turtle was doing a terrible job sweeping the house for weed and cocaine, Johnny has been painstakingly replacing all of Vince's alcohol with non-alcoholic substitutes. Yes, he's that committed to Vince's sobriety.

Now that Vince is out of rehab, what should his next project be? How about writing and directing a schmaltzy feel-good movie based on the trapped Chilean miners? Sounds like career suicide, right? Now, who wants to tell Vince that? And don't think you'll be able to soften the blow with some booze, either. Johnny Drama made sure of that.

The cast of 'Entourage' talks about the final season on 'Today'The filming for season eight is done, the premiere is set for Sunday, and all that's left is for the fans to watch the final season of HBO's 'Entourage.' Tuesday on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC), Matt Lauer interviewed the stars of the show -- Kevin Connolly (Eric Murphy), Jeremy Piven (Ari Gold), Adrian Grenier (Vincent Chase), Kevin Dillon (Johnny Chase), and Jerry Ferrara (Turtle) -- about the final season, and whether that is, in fact, the end of the show.

Lauer asked if everyone was on board with the show ending. "No, we got cancelled," joked Connolly. "We were not on board with it at all." Dillon added, "We'd shoot tomorrow if you let us." About the rumors that there might be an 'Entourage' movie in the works, Connolly confirmed, "We're going to try really hard to make that happen."

What to Watch: TV Picks for July 18-24

by Laura Prudom, posted Jul 17th 2011 3:20PM
Ashley and BenMONDAY, JULY 18

'The Bachelorette' (8PM ET, ABC)
It's hometown week for our blushing 'Bachelorette' and her four remaining suitors -- which means kooky family members, tough questions and, knowing Ashley, probably a tearful meltdown or two. But the more important question is ... what is your water heater doing right now?

'Hell's Kitchen' (8PM ET, Fox) season premiere
If you like your reality with a little more realism (and probably just as many tears), Gordon Ramsay returns with 18 masochistic new contenders competing for a head chef position at BLT Steak in New York. Just to spice things up, expect a battle of the sexes that will have tempers flaring.

'Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story' (8PM ET, Lifetime) original telefilm
If you're still on a Harry Potter high following the release of 'Deathly Hallows Part 2,' Potterites might want to check out the tale of how J.K. Rowling (Poppy Montgomery) brought the boy wizard to life whilst struggling to support her kids as a single mother on welfare. Magic!

TV Shows We Can't Quit, No Matter How Bad They Get

by AOL TV Staff, posted Jul 12th 2011 12:00PM
'Entourage'Have you ever continued to watch a TV show long after you knew you should've just given up on it? Don't lie. We know we're not alone.

After some particularly lackluster season finales, and a few recent underwhelming season premieres, we thought we'd share our TV grievances with you. (And, yes, they include 'Entourage,' whose final season cannot come and go soon enough for us.)

Here, the list of shows we just can't seem to quit, no matter how bad they get.

Of course, this list contains our own personal opinions about said allegedly bad shows. You might love some (or, god forbid, all) of them, but that's the fun of it. Feel free to defend the honor of any of our borderline shows, and chime in with your own why-can't-I-look-away nominations in the comments.

Mark Wahlberg Talks About the Genesis and Significance of 'Entourage' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 8th 2011 3:59AM
Mark Wahlberg, 'Hollywood Sunset: A Farewell Tribute to Entourage'No matter how close they got the cameras to his face, Mark Wahlberg said, "I don't want to get all emotional and teary-eyed here. And he didn't. But he did open up in a lot of ways on 'Hollywood Sunset: A Farewell Tribute to Entourage.'

The executive producer shared the evolution of how a short movie documentary about "my friends who at a later stage in life decided they wanted to be rappers" turned into 'Entourage.' We could have had yet another Hollywood reality show following Wahlberg and his buddies around, but thankfully he nixed that idea.

"I would not incriminate myself," he said, and so it evolved into a fictional variation that became a signature series for HBO and a perennial favorite at awards shows.

HBO Releases Extended 'Entourage' Final Season Trailer (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Jul 7th 2011 5:30PM
The first episode of the final season of HBO's 'Entourage' premieres Sunday, July 24. Today the network released an extended trailer of the 8-episode season that features some mild spoilers about the series' swansong. So if you're trying to stay spoiler free, stop reading, and don't watch this trailer.

The trailer picks up with Vince 90 days clean and sober, out of rehab after dealing with his Sasha Grey-induced cocaine problem. Drama is recording his gorilla-fronted cartoon series 'Johnny Bananas,' which co-stars Andrew Dice Clay. Turtle looks like he's lost about 35 pounds, and is working on his tequila project, trying to make his business moves without Vince's help. Sloane sends Eric back his engagement ring in the mail. Ari's separated and it looks like his marriage is falling apart. Vince writes a script for Drama that nobody except the Chase brothers seems particularly enthused about. Spike Lee, Mike Tyson, Doug Ellin Team Up for HBO Drama Series, 'Da Brick'

by Catherine Lawson, posted Jun 22nd 2011 7:11AM
Mike TysonMike Tyson's been undergoing a career resurgence of late. Since his cameo in 'The Hangover' introduced audiences to a more lighthearted side of the former boxing world champion, he's had his own TV show about pigeon fancying and appeared in the Argentine version of 'Dancing With the Stars.'

Now comes news that he's teamed up with filmmaker Spike Lee and 'Entourage' creator Doug Ellin to develop a drama series for HBO loosely based on his experiences growing up.

According to Deadline.com, 'Da Brick' is "described as a contemporary exploration of what it means to be a young, black man in supposedly post-racial America." The drama will be set in Newark, NJ -- nicknamed "brick city" -- in the current day.

'Da Brick' will be written by John Ridley ('Three Kings,' 'Third Watch'). Ellin, Ridley, Lee, Tyson and Jim Lefkowitz are all executive producing, with Tyson's wife Lakiha Tyson and Azim Spicer, CEO of Las Vegas' SpiceReel Prods., co-executive producing.

Charlie Sheen Won't be Appearing in 'Entourage'

by Catherine Lawson, posted May 26th 2011 7:30AM
Charlie Sheen'Entourage' creator Doug Ellin recently admitted that he would love former 'Two and a Half Men' star Charlie Sheen to appear on the show's series finale later this summer. "I called his manager and was told maybe I'd get him," Ellin told TV Guide. "But I'm still waiting for Charlie to call me back. I'd come up with something good."

But apparently Sheen never made that call and now Ellin says he's run out of time. In an interview with 'Entertainment Weekly' he says "I never heard back. Looks like it will not be happening. I could have come up with some good stuff. I didn't really plan anything, but I would have."

The cast and crew of 'Entourage' are halfway through shooting the final season, and Ellin says he's writing the script for the last-ever episode. So even if Sheen calls him now, there's no way he can be fitted in.
