'Lost' - 'Sundown' Recap

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 3rd 2010 2:20AM
'Lost' - 'Sundown'
(S06E06)
In a season where all the answers are supposedly being given, I actually appreciate that I still have no idea what's coming next on 'Lost.' With twelve episodes left to go, it's certainly not necessary for me to be spoon fed all the answers right now. If they did that, why would we keep watching it for the next two-and-a-half months?

This week, in the alpha-verse we were treated to the promised confrontation at the temple. It certainly didn't go down the way I expected, but it still blew my mind. Claire and Kate wound up facing off, with all the expected tension, and all hell broke loose in the temple. As I said, from the closing seconds of 'Sundown,' I can't even speculate what's going to happen next, and I love that.

Sayid was the focus of the episode, both on the island and in the rewritten beta-verse reality. In both of them he seems to be fighting a darkness within himself. It was certainly the darkest flash-sideways we've seen yet.

The Smoke Monster Gets Angry on 'Lost' (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 2nd 2010 2:59AM
Lost, Smoke Monster, KateSmokey the bandit or bear or Locke or whatever it is made an appearance on 'Lost' (Tue., 9PM ET on ABC) last night. Seriously, that thing is like the worst demon of 'Supernatural,' 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' and 'True Blood' all put together.

And, apparently, it only makes matters worse if you hang out in a temple. We're just glad our heroes have some smooth moves left in them.

Getting to Know... Evangeline Lilly

by Chris Jancelewicz, posted Feb 22nd 2010 6:20PM
'Lost' actress Evangeline Lilly is the stuff of men's dreams. It's no coincidence that the Canadian is cast in a show where her skin shows (amply) for about 60-70 percent of the time. It's hard to believe that this is the woman whose career started off with a bit part in 'Freddy vs. Jason'. Amazing.

Sawyer Planned to Ask Juliet to Marry Him on 'Lost' (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Feb 10th 2010 1:31AM
'Lost' - Sawyer tells Kate he planned to ask Juliet to marry himAwww ... that is so sad! Sawyer was planning on asking Juliet to marry him on 'Lost' (Tues., 9PM ET on ABC). He had the ring and everything.

As he tells Kate about it, the mournful feeling in our hearts is as much for Kate as Sawyer. She's never had that "one true love" feeling that Sawyer had for Juliet. But perhaps reuniting Claire with Aaron will help soften the blow for her.

'Lost' - 'What Kate Does' Recap

by Jonathan Toomey, posted Feb 10th 2010 12:46AM
Evangeline Lilly as Kate Austen on ABC's 'Lost.'
(S06E03) "It's the Others, dude. They caught us ... again." - Hurley

As 'What Kate Does' unfolded, I couldn't help but shake the feeling that everything we're witnessing in the "post-Jughead worked" 2004 time-line is going to end up being very important. Of course, that could have been due to the fact that in this past week's Official 'Lost' Audio Podcast, Cuse and Lindelof essentially laid it bare for us -- there is no alternate reality happening here. What's going on in LA in 2004 and what's going on in 2007 on the island are both very real.

The question to ask is what effect actions in one time-line will have on the events in the other. As far as 'Lost' mindf#%ks go, this one is a doozie, because it's forced us to reevaluate everything we remember about these characters, right back to the pilot episode.

Review: 'Lost' - 'LA X, Parts 1 and 2' (Season Premiere)

by Jonathan Toomey, posted Feb 3rd 2010 1:43AM
Lost premiere
(S06E01/S06E02) "We're back." - Kate

Did you hear that? That was the collective sound of TV fans across the country all brain-farting in unison. 'Lost' is back for its final season and I've gotta be honest -- I'm not really sure what to think about 'LA X.' In four or five months time, once the series has concluded, I'm positive I'll think differently about it. However, right now, 'LA X' was easily one of the most confusing hours of 'Lost' yet, and despite ABC's promos promising that "questions would be answered," all it gave us was a jumbo-jet (literally) chock full of new ones. Whatever ... I still loved every second of it.

Josh Holloway and Evangeline Lilly Talk 'Lost' Questions & Cage Orgies - VIDEO

by Maggie Furlong, posted Feb 2nd 2010 5:00PM
Skaters, get ready -- this might just be the most adorable, silliest, most sexually-charged interview Josh Holloway and Evangeline Lilly have ever done together.

In preparation for tonight's big 'Lost' final season premiere (Tues., Feb. 2, 9PM ET on ABC), I got the hilarious stars to dish about finally getting answers. "There've been so many questions that are answered," Evangeline admits, "but I'm still standing back and waiting to figure out how this is all gonna wrap up."

Josh is just as much in the dark -- "We're in the trenches, girl! -- but he does talk about one big thing that's happened: "All I know is, first episode I hit Evie with a pipe." And, yes, Evangeline's got the scar to prove it.

Watch our full video interview to hear more about the last season of 'Lost,' the stars' fondest memories, tension in the love quadrangle and their hot, steamy idea for the series finale.

Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly are Finished with TV When 'Lost' Ends

by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 2nd 2010 3:35PM
Fox, LillyYou hear it from TV stars all the time: after someone stars on a TV show (especially a popular one that lasts 5 or 7 or 10 years), they say they're never coming back to television again. They want to graduate to the film world and see how things go there. David Caruso could probably warn you against saying that, but TV stars keep saying it anyway.

The latest with that plan are 'Lost' stars Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly. Fox says he's done 300 hours of TV ('Lost' and 'Party of Five') so he wants to move back to the Pacific Northwest to be with his family and try films. Lilly? She wants to quit acting altogether! She says she might work on films, but it could be behind the scenes.

A Lost Television Moment

by Stephanie Earp, posted Feb 2nd 2010 10:17AM

In 2000, I decided to go back to school and finish my degree. In case you're wondering, I took classics and women's studies, and I'm sure you can tell it served me well. That summer I arrived on campus about three weeks before school started, and one Sunday I headed to the campus pub hoping to make some new friends.

It was August 23, 2000, just a little after 8 pm.

I made no friends that night. Instead I practically had to jump up and down in front of the bartender to get her attention away from the television. The bar was packed and utterly silent. Everyone was watching what I now know was the second-highest rated finale of the decade, that the people in bar were only a handful of approximately 51.7 million viewers watching the 'Survivor' season finale. And I knew I was completely and hopelessly out of it.

Lost's final season won't answer all of viewers' questions - TCA Report

by Joel Keller, posted Jan 12th 2010 10:01PM
Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse at the Lost panel at the Winter 2010 TCAsRight before the Conan "piss off, NBC" letter exploded all over the place, ABC had started their day at the TCAs with the critics' full attention. Why? Because the first panel of the day was the last time that the producers and crew of Lost would be in front of the critics answering questions about their confoundingly complicated show.

It almost felt like a collective valedictory speech, as the cast was given a chance to talk about their biggest memories from six years of shooting the show in Hawaii, and EPs Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof waxed poetic over what they think the legacy of the show is going to be.

But the big takeaways? The final season is not going to answer every question surrounding the show. The story arc this year will be told in a way that might not actually confuse anyone who's decided to finally jump on board and watch. And Lindelof's reaction to the possibility that the premiere might be pre-empted by the State of the Union address was priceless.

What if Lost were a sitcom from the nineties?

evangeline lilly kate austen lostLost fanatics, rejoice! We may still have, oh, more than half a year left before we get cheerfully dumped with a load of new episodes (::drool::), but in the meantime, we have DVD's, abc.com, repeats on SyFy, and YouTube!

Yes, YouTube.

Well, technically, we can't get our fix of full episodes on "the Tubez," but the site still provides us with plenty of fodder; fan dedications, clip montages, and music videos galore. Let's face it: people love their Hurley birds, smoke monsters, and everlasting, cancer-conquering romances. And why shouldn't they?
