Maureen McCormick and Eve Plumb Feud Cancels 'Brady Bunch' Reunion
by Danny Gallagher, posted Mar 1st 2010 8:00PM
All of the Brady kids were supposed to make a grand reunion on 'Today' this morning, but an old sibling rivalry prevented the magic from happening. Eve Plumb and Maureen McCormick, who played Jan and Marcia respectively on 'The Brady Bunch,' haven't been getting along. When the two learned they would have to share the same stage with each other for more than five minutes, the whole thing broke down.
Some blame the feud over McCormick's seedy tell-all book in which she alleges the two had feelings for each other, but others say the feud goes back much further.
Happy Fake Jan Day 2010! How Will You Celebrate?
by David Hofstede, posted Jan 2nd 2010 9:00AM
While Festivus remains the most widely acknowledged holiday to be created by a TV series, thousands of 'Brady Bunch' fans worldwide are closing the gap. On January 2, they will once again gather to celebrate Fake Jan Day, and to honor actress Geri Reischl, who played Jan Brady on 'The Brady Bunch Hour.'As most schoolchildren recall from their American history classes, 'The Brady Bunch Hour' was a musical spin-off of 'The Brady Bunch' that aired briefly in 1977, and is now recalled as one of the worst television shows in the history of the medium.
The only Brady cast member to recognize this trainwreck before it left the station was Eve Plumb, who played Jan on the original series. Geri Reischl was cast as her replacement, and became forever immortalized as Fake Jan.
The Bradys need to replace Jan again
by Brad Trechak, posted Jul 10th 2009 10:29AM
It looks like The Brady Bunch is going to have to replace Jan again. Eve Plumb is holding out from appearing on a reunion for The Oprah Winfrey Show in September due to a disagreement with fellow Brady alum Maureen McCormick. Apparently during a book tour, McCormick "confessed" in jest to a lesbian affair between the two of them that didn't actually happen. The lesbian concept sounds like something out of Not The Bradys (warning: link NSFW). Of course, all Brady fanatics remember how Eve Plumb opted not to appear in the variety show Hell that was The Brady Bunch Hour from 1976 to 1977. I wonder if they'll get Geri Reischl to replace her for Oprah.
I wonder if Eve Plumb did, in fact, get upset by McCormick's comments and if so, why? If it were me, I would have said McCormick was kidding and taken it in stride. Maybe she's holding out for more money from Ms. Winfrey?
Barry Williams: The TV Squad Interview
by Joel Keller, posted Mar 28th 2008 11:02AM
There are six human beings on this planet who will be forever linked by one experience: growing up on the set of The Brady Bunch. But, of the six actors who played the Brady kids during the show's 1969-74 run, none has embraced the role as consistently and enthusiastically as Barry Williams, who played Greg. Over the years, Williams has been involved in every reunion show (including the ill-fated "dramatic" show The Bradys in 1990) and has never shied away from discussing the show during interviews. He even wrote a book about the experience, 1992's Growing Up Brady: I Was a Teenage Greg, where he recounted stories like his crush on co-star Maureen McCormick, his "date" with his TV mom, Florence Henderson, and Robert Reed's constant arguments with the producers. The book was made into a TV movie in 2000.Now, at 53, Williams has a blog, called The Greg Brady Project, which debuted in December. There, Williams tells stories about his experiences as an actor over the last 40-plus years while a series of co-writers wax nostalgic about the past, and not necessarily about The Brady Bunch. I spoke to Williams by phone earlier this month. We talked about the blog, why he's embraced his Greg Brady past more than his co-stars, and what he thinks of some of those co-stars' new projects. The interview is after the jump.

Identity: Premiere
by Brett Love, posted Dec 19th 2006 11:34AM
(S01E01) The latest in the ever increasing line of game shows is upon us. With Penn Jillette hosting, NBC unveiled Identity last night. After one episode, the show has a lot going for it. To start, Jillette was a great choice for the host. He's good with the guests, manages to keep the show moving along, and a pretty funny guy. The line of the night came when he said of the shark attack victim, "If she didn't have that top on our ratings would be a lot better."The game itself is rather simple. The contestant is presented with 12 strangers and a list of twelve identities. For each correct guess they move up the money ladder. Correctly identifying all twelve strangers is a $500,000 payoff. They have one mistaken identity in their pocket, so the first miss is a freebie. But a second miss sends them home with no cash.
To aid them in their quest there are two helper options. With "tridentity" they can pick one of the identities and the field will be narrowed down to three potential correct answers. There is also a panel of experts that includes a body language expert, a psychologist, and an fbi agent.
