Desperate Housewives: The Miracle Song
by Jen Creer, posted Nov 26th 2006 10:27PM
(S03E10) A couple of weeks ago, a commenter suggested that maybe Art's half-naked pictures of the boys in his basement were pictures of the kids on his swim team. That is exactly the explanation his sister offered for them in this episode. Do you think that is accurate? He explained why the toys were missing from his basement last week by saying that he had donated them to charity, and that story checked out, but he could have decided to do that after Lynette found the pictures and basement. And why remove the pictures, if they are so innocent? On the one hand, his sister knew about the pictures; but ,had she actually seen them? Or did Art give her his version of what they were? After all, they were in the basement, his sister appears to be dependent on her wheelchair, and I didn't see a ramp to the basement. On the other hand, those kids in those pictures didn't look like they were proudly displaying their swimming accomplishments, nor did they appear to be in swimsuits or in a swim team scenario. And maybe I am just saying that because my son is on our local swim team.

CSI helps real murderers
by Keith McDuffee, posted Jan 30th 2006 8:38AM
You
know all of those cool aspects of the CSI shows that got you interested in
them in the first place? The teeny bits of cloth left behind by suspects. Tiny drops of blood leftover from a bleach
cleanup. Who would've thought that the detail that goes into these shows, and how the fictional murders executed their
plans, would actually wind up helping, or even encouraging, real murderers? One recent case had the suspect cleaning blood from his hands with bleach, lining his car with blankets (to protect it from blood when transferring bodies) and meticulously cleaning up evidence. He was caught, however, when he tried to throw the murder weapon - a crowbar - into a lake. According to the affidavit, "The lake was frozen though and he shouted a profanity when the crowbar remained on the surface." I guess having CSI based in Nevada didn't teach him everything he needed to know.
