After tour, Elliott Yamin will no longer be part of Idol

by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 3rd 2006 3:16PM

Elliott YaminTV Guide has an interview with American Idol finalist Elliott Yamin. People have been wondering why four of the five finalists on the show got record deals with 19 Entertainment, the producers/company behind Idol, but not Yamin.

"I'm not upset. Not at all. There's no need for anyone to be outraged. What's the big hurry? What's the big rush? The folks who've signed to this point, they're with 19. I will not be affiliated with 19 after the tour is over...I'm going to be able to make the music I want to make; that's all I have to say."

He also explains that after Idol was over, he got 40 to 50 offers for free dental work! And he might just take one up on their offer.

Take a look at Drama's resume

by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 5th 2006 8:19AM
Kevin DillonEntourage's Johnny Chase isn't exactly an A list star, and his resume proves it. Even when he's been on a well-known, hit TV show, like Friends or Melrose Place or Law and Order: SVU, it's usually in small roles like "dead body," "drunk frat guy," or, um, "dead body."

My favorite parts of the resume: under Special Skills it says "Pasty Arts," and he lists his PS 159 performance of Lords Of Flatbush. That must have been an advanced school.

Oh, and he has no agent. Sad.

Kellie Pickler on singing, Simon, and salmon

by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 30th 2006 4:22PM
Simon CowellLong Q and A with Kellie Pickler over at Entertainment Weekly's web site. I like how she understands that she really gave two bad performances in a row and was lucky to last as long as she did, but this quote sticks out to me, as she answers a question about not knowing what a minx or calamari are, or how to pronounce the word salmon:

"To be honest, that kind of hurt my feelings. I don't think people realize I went from a small town in North Carolina to Los Angeles, so of course there are going to be things I don't know."

What, they don't have salmon in North Carolina restaurants? They don't use the words minx and calamari there? They don't use the phrase "on paper" (something Simon said to her) in the Carolinas?
