Two and a Half Men's Jon Cryer, the FBI and a death threat

by Allison Waldman, posted Jan 21st 2010 1:00PM
jon_cryer_two_and_a_half_menWhen I read that there was a plot to kill Two and a Half Men's Jon Cryer, I thought it had to be a joke. Jon Cryer? Seriously, what could "Alan Harper" have done to piss somebody off so badly that they want him dead? Then I read the TMZ item again -- bearing in mind that it's TMZ -- and learned the FBI is investigating a threat on Jon Cryer's life. The FBI doesn't mess around. They're like the IRS, you know -- no sense of humor.

Apparently, Jon Cryer is involved in a very nasty custody dispute with his ex-wife. The situation is so intense that Cryer contacted the authorities because he believed someone was trying to kill him. The word "hitman" was used, and as bizarre as that sounds, people have been known to go to such extremes. Law enforcement took Jon's worries seriously and questioned his ex-wife about her involvement. Nobody has been arrested, but the FBI worked on the case for a week.

Psych: There's Something About Mira

Gus and Mira talk, while Shawn builds a house out of cork

(S02E11) " I like my wine like I like my men -- white & hairy" -- Mira's mother, Phylis Gaffney, to Shawn Spencer

After a few months break (with a holiday special in-between) Psych returned to the USA Network schedule this week with a slew of new episodes that were completed long before the Writers' Strike began. This is good news because 1) it's one more scripted show in an ocean of reality programming and 2) it gives them a full episode load to air on NBC starting in March. I've always felt that this comedy has been overlooked because of the day and time it airs, and I hope that its showing on network television will give more people an opportunity to see just how good it is.

Eureka: Games People Play

Jack feels the pain when he forgets to duck.
(S02E04) I was a bit torn while I pondered this particular episode. On one hand I was disappointed - I figured out the basic premise by the opening credits. Eureka does enjoy dribbling secrets, but I think the faucet was opened a bit too quickly on this one.
