Tony Bennett and Justin Bieber to Perform on 'Christmas in Rockefeller Center'

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 11th 2011 6:00AM
Tony BennettJoy to Beliebers and their grandparents: The original pop star, Tony Bennett, will be showing Justin Bieber how it's done when they both perform at NBC's annual live Christmas tree-lighting ceremony, 'Christmas in Rockefeller Center' later this month.

The roster of big name performers announced by the network spans not only generations, but also genres, with singers Michael Bublé, Cee Lo Green, Faith Hill, Carole King, Katharine McPhee and 'The Voice' winner Javier Colon performing a mix of current hits and holiday classics.

NBC announced that the hour-long special on November 30 will be hosted by the 'Today Show's Al Roker and Savannah Guthrie and will -- natch -- also feature seasonal high-kickers, The Radio City Rockettes. Prior to the primetime telecast, WNBC and other NBC affiliates (check your local listings) will also air an additional live hour of the special.

While filming 'Country Strong,' Gwyneth Paltrow said she drew inspiration from musician Faith Hill. In particular, Paltrow was inspired by Hill's statuesque appearance, after discovering that many female country artists are actually quite small, she said on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM ET on ABC).

'Project Runway' - 'Finale, Part II' Recap

by Michael Pascua, posted Apr 23rd 2010 12:30AM
(S07E14) It's the final episode of 'Project Runway' Season 7 and I'm more excited this season than last season. The collections of Irina, Carol Hannah, and Althea pale in comparison to this season, which actually had some original colors, shapes, and concepts. This season was apparently more important because they sacrificed an episode of 'Models of the Runway' for a reunion episode that didn't say much.

by Kim Potts, posted Dec 23rd 2009 6:00AM
'A Home for the Holidays' (8PM, CBS)
A great lineup of celebs pops in to perform and support host Faith Hill in this 11th annual special to promote awareness of adoption. Mary J. Blige, musician (and featured adoptee) Michael Franti, Reba McEntire, Shakira and Carrie Underwood sing a few tunes, though the main event of the special, as always, is the inspirational true stories of families whose lives have been changed when they adopted children. Country superstar Hill, who was also adopted as an infant, says the 'Home for the Holidays' specials have helped more than 20,000 children find adoptive homes.

Martina McBride mentors Top 7 Idol contestants during country week

by Liz Finn-Arnold, posted Apr 16th 2007 6:04PM
Martina McBrideThis week, Martina McBride will be coaching the remaining seven Idol finalists with their country music selections. McBride, considered the "Celine Dion of country music," will also perform her Top-5 single "Anyway" during Wednesday's live results show (April 18) on FOX.

Oh boy, this is going to be a rough week for me. I'm not much of a country music fan, so the songs aren't going to be familiar (unless they all perform Shania Twain or Faith Hill). The contestants already butchered Latin-themed music last week, under the guidance of Jennifer Lopez. But, I have a feeling that this week could be worse.

Are American Idol losers the real winners?

by Liz Finn-Arnold, posted Jan 16th 2007 12:23PM
Kellie Pickler and ConstantineHoward Cohen of MiamiHerald.com seems to think so. In today's post he points out that several AI finalists didn't take top prize, but the show still helped catapult them to success. Jennifer Hudson's Golden Globe win last night certainly puts her on the top of the list for "Most Successful Ex-American Idol Losers," well, at least for the time being.

Faith Hill claims her CMA "freakout" was a joke - VIDEO

by Anna Johns, posted Nov 7th 2006 4:33PM
faith hillCountry singer Faith Hill is doing some damage control today after her behavior last night on the Country Music Awards. When she lost Female Vocalist of the Year to American Idol winner Carrie Underwood, Hill was shown throwing her arms in the air and saying, "WHAT?!?" Then she walked out of frame. It was a very Samuel L. Jackson-type of move.

Today, Faith HIll says she was just joking. She released a statement: "The idea that I would would act disrespectful towards a fellow musician is unimaginable to me." I actually believe her. Although, it's much more funny to imagine a big Country Music showdown between Faith Hill and Carrie Underwood, the two purest women in the genre.

Video of Faith being a (fake) sore loser after the jump:
