Felicity Huffman Says Farewell to 'Desperate Housewives'
by Michael Maloney, posted Sep 25th 2011 12:00PM
Sunday nights aren't going to be the same without Lynette, Gaby, Bree and Susan, but fans have one more season of craziness on 'Desperate Housewives' (Season 8 premieres Sun., Sept. 25, 9PM ET on ABC).In last season's cliffhanger, the women of Wisteria Lane had entered another conspiracy together, covering up the murder of Gaby's evil stepfather. But there's an even greater challenge facing the entire cast: How are they going to process the fact that this guilty pleasure will be going off the air at the end of this season?
AOL TV spoke to Felicity Huffman -- who won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy after the show's first season -- regarding her feelings about the show ending and how she'd like to see things end up for Tom and Lynette.
Her answers may surprise you! Keep reason for more thoughts on what's sure to be a memorable final season.
Felicity Huffman Translates - in Spanish! - for Eva Longoria at 'ALMA Awards' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 19th 2011 5:45AM
'Desperate Housewives' took home the award for Favorite TV Series at 'The 2011 ALMA Awards' (Fri., 8PM ET on NBC). The American Latino Media Arts Awards honors the Latino community, so it was no surprise that Eva Longoria spoke on behalf of the show after creator Marc Cherry. But the women did have a little bit of fun with it when Felicity Huffman chastised Longoria for not speaking in Spanish. She then proceeded to speak in Spanish, translating what Longoria was saying in English.
That said, while Felicity hung in there very well, she did start to struggle the further they went along. In the end, though, it was a very cute bit, shaking expectations and having a little bit of fun.
'Desperate Housewives' to End After Season 8
by Jean Bentley, posted Aug 5th 2011 4:30PM
You'll have to look elsewhere for your soapy domestic drama come May 2012, because that's when 'Desperate Housewives' will conclude its eighth and final season. Although ABC hasn't yet sent official word, the network is expected to announce the big news at Sunday's Television Critics Association panel. UPDATE 8/7/11: ABC has since made it official.According to Deadline Hollywood, the news was completely unexpected considering all four of the show's big stars -- Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, and Eva Longoria -- had signed on for two more years, and creator Marc Cherry had publicly stated he wanted the series to run for nine seasons.
Wendy Williams Tests Her 'Desperate Housewives' Knowledge (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 13th 2011 11:32PM
Wendy Williams is a self-confessed 'Desperate Housewives' super fan. She says she is "the biggest 'Desperate Housewives' fan ever." On Wednesday's 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated), she put her fan knowledge to the test in a quiz administered by 'Housewives' star Felicity Huffman.Williams was able to name the town where Wisteria Lane is located, to identify the business Lynette and Renee started together, and which other housewife Lynette feuded with in season 6. She went four for four, and earned a limited edition framed poster signed by the cast. "For my mom cave," Williams noted.
It would have been very awkward if Williams had lost. The poster was already behind the couch, and presumably, Williams wouldn't have let it go without a fight.
Felicity Huffman Shares Some Magic on 'Ellen' (VIDEO)
by Oliver Miller, posted Oct 6th 2010 11:55PM
It's "Magic Week" on 'Ellen' (weekdays, syndicated). Yes, all week long, host Ellen DeGeneres will be showing off magicians and magical performances. This "theme" week replaces the previous theme on the 'Ellen Show,' which was "Cat Week." Aw, man! Why can't every week be Cat Week? Oh well. Magic is pretty good too, we guess.Actress Felicity Huffman shows up, and even though Felicity is a non-professional, Ellen has her do a magic trick as well. Felicity tries to perform a card trick, but then ... she seems to have a little trouble pulling it off.
Felicity Huffman Thought She'd Do More Movies After 'Transamerica'
by Joel Keller, posted Jul 28th 2010 8:02AM
If you're wondering why Felicity Huffman of 'Desperate Housewives' hasn't done more movies since her Oscar-nominated leading role in 'Transamerica' five years ago, you'd be wondering alongside Huffman herself."I was anticipating doing more movies," she told me as TCA members toured the Wisteria Lane set on the first day of the summer press tour. "I got a lot of movie scripts for a while... I don't really get them anymore."
Huffman said she underestimated how much time she'd really have during her five-week 'Housewives' breaks, but that wasn't all she underestimated. "Independent films have taken a dive. They're becoming harder and harder to do and somewhat extinct because there's a glut on the market, and they're just so hard to get funding. So I feel like the golden age of independent movies, at least the way they were being done, is over."

As Mary Alice Young's voiceover intoned, "People make choices every day, and those choices are what define us." Lynette Scavo and Eddie Orlofsky both made some defining decisions on 'Desperate Housewives' (Sun., 9PM ET on ABC).[Spoiler alert.]
A Killer in the House on 'Desperate Housewives' (VIDEO)

On 'Desperate Housewives' (Sun., 9PM ET on ABC), an argument about doing the laundry gets a little out of hand. Housewife Lynette (Felicity Huffman) has invited Eddie (Josh Zuckerman) to live in her house. What she doesn't yet realize is that Eddie is the deadly Fairview strangler. When Lynette's son Preston refuses to put his clothes in the dryer, Eddie suddenly attacks him.'Desperate Housewives' - 'A Little Night Music' Recap

(S06E21) "I really need to surprise my audience." - Patrick
'Desperate Housewives' writers should have followed the dialog they wrote for Patrick and try to surprise us because 'A little Night Music' was anything but surprising. I expected much better this week since this is, after all, one of the last three episodes of the season.
Even if the episode was a let down, it did push the storylines a bit further and reminded us that you can't run from your past and lies all your life as they will catch you sooner or later.
How Much Longer Can ABC Keep 'Desperate Housewives' Cast From Bolting?
by Gary Susman, posted Apr 29th 2010 2:00PM
With the sixth season of 'Desperate Housewives' winding down, how much longer can the series stay on the air? Depends on the players and how long ABC can get them to stick around.According to Deadline Hollywood, the network would like another two seasons. Creator Marc Cherry has spoken of a nine-season run. But the core cast - Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, and Eva Longoria Parker - are contracted for only one more season, and so far, says Deadline, there's been little negotiation between the network and the stars about an eighth season.
'Desperate Housewives' - 'Epiphany' Recap

(S06E20) "His name was Eddie. Everyone thought he was harmless." - Mary Alice
Let's get it out of the way right now: this week's episode, 'Epiphany,' is no 'The Best Thing That Ever Could Have Happened,' the show's 100th episode which starred Beau Bridges last season and had the same episode format. No matter, this week's installment offered us a nice walk down memory lane, including scenes with Mary Alice (above with 4-year-old Eddie, while showing us why the latter became to be the Fairview Strangler.

'Desperate Housewives' - 'We All Deserve to Die' Recap
by Isabelle Carreau, posted Apr 18th 2010 11:11PM
(S06E19) "Sometimes ... we let it in." - Mary Alice about "Evil"After months without mentioning the strangler storyline, 'Desperate Housewives' finally let "Evil" back in and treated us not only with hints and, sadly, a new killing, but also with the identity of the culprit!!!
We first saw the person in the second episode of the season. My immediate instinct was that the strangled was a young man with whom Julie may have had a complicated "thing" with and that I didn't think it was Julie's ex (played by Steven Weber). In comments TV Squad readers left to my review of that episode, most fingers were pointed at Danny, McCluskey, Ana, Angie, Roy, and Katherine. Of course, as more episodes aired, people were added to the list while others were removed. Did you guess right? The answer coming up!
'Desperate Housewives' - 'My Two Young Men' Recap

(S06E18) "You should never trust family photos. They are designed to be deceiving." - Mary Alice when describing the Van De Kamp's photosLast week's episode set a lot of storylines in motion: Preston and Irina's upcoming wedding, Sam becoming a part of Bree's life, Katherine and Robin potentially becoming a couple, and Patrick eventually finding the Bolens. This week, these four storylines continued to be developed and questions were raised as we fast approach the final episodes of this season of 'Desperate Housewives.'
Before I comment on these four storylines and the fact that Preston still has the worst fake mustache in TV history, I must warn you that the next new episode will air on April 18. That means we will have to wait close to a month before getting new dish on our favorite Wisteria Lane residents!
