Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman coming to DVD, DVD

by Bob Sassone, posted Jan 16th 2007 3:21PM

Mary HartmanI remember when this show premiered like it was yesterday. My mom was really interested in watching it, but I thought it looked just looked like a dumb soap opera (this was before I began my two decade long obsession with Guiding Light). I watched a handful of the episodes, and I didn't like it at all. It was too weird for me. But I'm curious to watch it again, as I'll probably have a different take on it since I'm no longer, you know, 10 years old.

Vol. 1 of the series - a 3 disc set - will be released by Sony on March 27. This set will be 25 episodes, which sounds like a lot until you realize that over its two seasons, the show had 325 episodes. Yikes, I had no idea it had that many shows.

The show starred Louise Lasser as Mary, along with Greg Mullavey, Mary Kay Place, Dody Goodman, Debralee Scott, Philip Bruns, Claudia Lamb, and Dabney Coleman.

Screech gets interviewed in Spike TV pilot - VIDEO

by Brett Love, posted Sep 8th 2006 4:35PM
Reginald WestinghouseOver the years there have been some pretty funny fake talk shows on television. Fernwood 2-Night, Night Stand with Dick Dietrich, and The Kumars at No. 42 all come to mind. Spike TV has a pilot that follows along similar lines to those three called Now That's Entertainment ...with Reginald Westinghouse. Reginald is an agoraphobic, germaphobic, schizophrenic who hosts a talk show out of his home. Somehow he lures celebrities in to be interviewed, and the craziness begins. There isn't much more information available about this one, and no mention at all on the SpikeTV website. The trailer claims the show is coming this fall. Until there is some official word from Spike though, I wouldn't count on it. Of course, if enough people go watch, you never know. Part of Reginald's interview with Dustin Diamond is embedded after the jump.

[Thanks Michele]
