Patricia Heaton: good actress, bad at math
by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 18th 2009 2:25PM
Math was my worst subject in school, by far, but I still think I would have gotten this question that Patricia Heaton got on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire last night. This is something that Debra would dump on Raymond about.
Are you watching Millionaire?

I have to admit, I'm a lover of game shows but even I'm not watching the 10th anniversary edition of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire on ABC. I keep forgetting it's even on, but if I remembered at 8PM I'd still skip it. Maybe it's the daytime version or the fact that it's on GSN several times a day.The ratings haven't been too great in general (though they could be worse). Are you watching it?

Millionaire returning to ABC this August (with Reege!)
by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 22nd 2009 7:00PM
Remember when Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? was the prime time sensation, a timely game show that people actually talked about the next day, and then ABC ran it so much they ruined the whole thing? Well, ABC is bringing the show back for a limited run this August, and Regis Philbin will host once again. In celebration, here's a bunch of videos of people blowing easy early questions.
You might want to watch Millionaire today - VIDEO
by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 24th 2009 10:03AM
Remember when the prime time version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was the buzz-worthy show on the air? That was before ABC said "hey, we have a big hit here so let's run it into the ground." The show then started airing too much and the episodes were filmed too far ahead of time (it was so much more exciting when the dates for the filming of the show and the airing of the show were really close to each other) and it just became another game show. Now there's a daytime version with Meredith Vieira, and they've made several changes to the show. But are fans still watching? You might want to watch today's episode. Former Jeopardy! champion Roger Storm looks like he might be going far if the video after the jump is any clue. It also asks us to watch today's episode, so maybe he just might win that million dollars?
Spoiler follows after the jump (though the title of the video is misleading.)
Where are the experts on Millionaire's "TV Week?"
by Bob Sassone, posted Jul 31st 2008 2:26PM
I don't usually watch Who Wants To Be A Millionaire after my local news in the afternoon. After the news is over I usually switch to another channel, but this week they're having a "TV Week," (though it could be a repeat week since it's summer, not sure) so I've been watching every day. And I have to tell you, these contestants don't know much about television.I don't say this as a guy who writes about television for a living, I'm talking about as a television fan. The questions have been remarkably easy, especially in the early rounds, even up to $25,000, and the players are just failing miserably. Even with the lifelines the show offers! That's inexcusable. Of course, the audience hasn't always been a help either. They screwed over one contestant by saying that Eliza Dushku's show was called Tru Colors and not Tru Calling.
