The Judges Declare the Winner of 'Project Runway' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 28th 2011 12:45AM
'Project Runway' finaleIt was down to four designers for the finale of 'Project Runway' (Thu., 9PM ET on Lifetime), and they had to impress four actual professionals on the dais, as costume designer L'Wren Scott joined the usual trio. This meant four expert opinions -- as opposed to three plus a token celebrity.

!!SPOILER ALERT!!

Once again, it looks like Anya is living by the motto: Why do now what you can put off until the last possible minute? And yet, she always manages to have something to show, and her looks usually go over well with the judges.

!!SPOILER ALERT!!

For their final challenge, they had to make a dessert that represented someone important to them, as well as an entire table of desserts for display. Aesthetic presentation and flavor were equally important, as this was their last chance to impress.

by Laura Prudom, posted Oct 2nd 2011 11:10AM

Featuring Kal Penn as Robin's therapist, in his first acting role since joining the Obama Administration -- you go, Kumar!

'Awkward' Finale: Did Jenna Choose the Right Guy? And About the Letter...

by Jean Bentley, posted Sep 28th 2011 9:00AM
AwkwardThe first season of MTV's 'Awkward' didn't go out with a whimper, that's for sure.

The hilarious high school show about an outsider girl trying to decide between the two adorable, popular guys in her love love triangle (first world problems, right?) while also trying to figure out who sent her a mean-spirited "Carefrontation" letter at the beginning of the school year solved both mysteries before the end of Tuesday's hourlong finale. But let's get to the most shocking revelation first: Did she choose Jake or Matty?

Though both guys gave us plenty of reasons to root for them throughout the season, my heart, like Jenna's, was decidedly on Team Matty. He meant well, he just didn't realize how poorly he was treating Jenna. He always cared for her -- it's not his fault he's a teenage boy who doesn't know how to deal with his feelings! Although Jake is adorable, I couldn't get over Matty's swoon-worthy gestures to show Jenna how much he cared, and also his dreamy hair. Jake, on the other hand, I thought deserved to stay in the friend zone.

Wilmer Valderrama Hallucinates on the 'Royal Pains' Finale (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 1st 2011 2:20AM
'Royal Pains' - A Little Art, a Little Science'After another fun summer in the Hamptons, it's time to say goodbye to the Lawson brothers for a while with the summer finale of 'Royal Pains' (Wed., 9PM ET on USA). And by "fun," of course, we mean people nearly dying every week.

Art enthusiast Eric has been a medical mystery for a while now, and now he's hallucinating, he's diabetic and he has a medical condition that makes him physically react to artwork.

And on top of all that, some kind of affliction that makes him come across like a very bad actor. Okay, we're just kidding, guest star Wilmer Valderrama.

'The Challenge: Rivals' Ends With a Brutal Two-Day Challenge (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 25th 2011 5:08AM
'The Challenge: Rivals' finaleIn what looks like the final episode for the series that began as 'The Real World/Road Rules Challenge,' the producers came up with one of the most brutal single challenges in the history of any reality competition show. It was so intense, two of the six remaining teams didn't even finish 'The Challenge: Rivals' (Wed., 10PM ET on MTV).

The two day marathon first decided that the teams were going to have to carry a rock the rest of the race. They then had a three mile hike, had to memorize a camp site set-up, transfer a pile of dirt from one location to another, cross a marshy mess and then recreate that camp they saw before.

'Parks and Recreation' Season 3, Episodes 15 and 16 (Season Finale) Recap

by Joel Keller, posted May 20th 2011 3:00AM
'Parks and Recreaton' - 'Li'l Sebastian'['Parks and Recreation' - 'The Bubble'/'Li'l Sebastian']

As much as these two episodes are linked together as a "season finale" (there are even "Part One/Part Two" titles before each episode), the only thing that really links the two is the story of Leslie and Ben and the lengths they're going to in order to keep their relationship a secret.

Let's just say that they're not doing a very good job of it. Leslie, usually someone who's good coming up with ideas, can only think of ones where someone leaves the country. And Ben is so smitten with Leslie that he can't help but smooch and tickle her in very public places. Leslie loves being in "the bubble" of a new relationship, but she knows that under these conditions, it's not going to last long.

But before we get to the many stories we saw in these episodes, let's talk about the last seven minutes of the finale. It was a humdinger, wasn't it?

May 2011 Finale Dates: When Will My Favorite Show End?

by Rich Keller, posted May 1st 2011 9:00AM
SmallvilleHow the logical movement of seconds and minutes soars! Doesn't it seem like only days ago when we all perched in front of our flat screens to watch the season premieres of our favorite shows?

The May Sweeps period is upon us and thus the month is chock full of finales for those same favorite programs. Like many seasons prior, most of the shows will say goodbye toward the middle of the month. There are also a few shows who will not be returning to the airwaves after the season ends, either due to their logical end or the fall of the figurative axe by network executives.

Here's a comprehensive list of every May season and series finale for the 2010-2011 television season.

'Oprah Winfrey Show' Finale Garnering $1 Million Per Commerical Spot

by Chris Harnick, posted Apr 12th 2011 4:45PM
Oprah WinfreyIt's no secret Oprah Winfrey is a major power player in the industry, but this latest news is still surprising. Commercial spots during the series finale of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' are commanding $1 million a pop -- yes, 30-second ads.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, that's close to par with the finales for beloved sitcoms 'Everybody Loves Raymond' ($1.22 million) and 'Seinfeld' ($1.42 million).

Last year's 'Lost' finale pulled in $900,000 per spot.

However, the 'Friends' finale saw advertisers paying $2.4 million for a 30-second ad. More than 50 million viewers watched the episode.

'Big Love' Season 5, Episode 10 (Series Finale) Recap

by Dr. Ryan Vaughan, PhD (no, seriously), posted Mar 21st 2011 7:05AM
'Big Love' Series Finale['Big Love': 'When Men and Mountains Meet']

What do you look for in a series finale? Resolution? Closure? Drama? Suspense? A twist? The return of a lost character? Death? Birth? Pro-polygamy legislation? If you answered "yes" to any, or all, of those scenarios you would have been mildly amused by the 'Big Love' series finale.

I say that because, while the episode did hit all those major finale highlights, it didn't really hit any of them with much force, leaving the show's legacy somewhat up for grabs. I'm not going to let a great series be sullied with a mediocre finale; I will continue to pretend that it all ended with a three-way wifely mud-wrestling contest -- which is what we were all expecting, I'm sure.

Exclusive 'Big Love' First Look: The Henrickson Wives Hit the Road

by Jean Bentley, posted Mar 16th 2011 4:00PM
Big Love, HBOThe end is near, friends.

This Sunday marks the final episode of HBO's 'Big Love,' and from the looks of TV Squad's exclusive clip, wherein the three Henrickson wives ride, 'Thelma and Louise'–style, in Barb's new convertible, we can only hope the final minutes of the series don't see the ladies driving toward any cliffs.

After watching said clip, Barb's Zen-like attitude leaves us pretty secure that things will turn out all right for the ladies, even though Nicki is as uptight as ever. (Of course, she's the one who asks Barb to put the top up.)

"Just relax, enjoy the ride," Barb tells her sister wife. "It's the last time we'll all be together for the first time in Honeybee." (Honeybee, of course, is the name of the car.)

Watch the clip after the jump.

'Undercovers' Series Finale: The Show Comes to an End -- Sort of (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Dec 30th 2010 1:31AM
'Undercovers' Series Finale: The Show Comes to an End -- Sort of Every story is a mystery story -- even if the tale itself doesn't involve clues or a crime. Whether it's a sitcom about mismatched roommates, a game show, or a reality show about people living in New Jersey, we still watch every TV program for the same reason: to find out what happens at the end.

It's a natural human desire to learn what happens next. But this might be a problem where 'Undercovers' is concerned. You see, the spy drama has been canceled. Tonight's episode (Wed., 8PM ET on NBC) is the 11th installment of the show. Two episodes remain, but they might never be aired. So, this could be the end.

Every story is a mystery story, but the latest (and maybe last) episode of 'Undercovers' gave us a literal mystery as well. ... What was in the locker?

And the 'Skating With the Stars' Winner Is... (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Dec 22nd 2010 1:10AM
And the 'Skating With the Stars' Winner Is... Ever since its premiere, 'Skating With the Stars' (Tue., 8PM ET on ABC) has been like an awkward cousin to the more popular 'Dancing With the Stars.' From the beginning, the show has seemed cursed: there have been pratfalls, a bloody accident, and a star who had to quit the show due to illness.

Last night, the show even had a mini-'DWTS'-style crisis. In a repeat of the Bristol Palin/Brandy fiasco, voters picked the celebrity with the lowest scores to advance to the finals. Reality star Bethenny Frankel beat Olympic skier Jonny Moseley, as the crowd booed the decision.

This meant that Bethenny faced actress Rebecca Budig on tonight's finale. Their scores would determine the winner. And so, the first-ever winner of 'Skating With the Stars' is ...

'The Sing-Off' Finale: And the Winner Is... (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Dec 21st 2010 12:27AM
'The Sing-Off' Finale: And the Winner Is...Well, it's that time already. It's the final countdown. After a mere two weeks, we've reached the finale of 'The Sing-Off' (Mon., 8PM ET on NBC). Heading into the finals, only four groups remained. All of them were battling it out for $100,000 and a recording contract. But who would make the cut?

First to be eliminated was Talk of the Town, led by 66-year-old Jerry Lawson, who has been singing a cappella for over forty years. The Backbeats -- the only group in the finals with any female singers -- were the next to go home.

This set up an all-male, all-Southern battle for grand prize. Two groups remained: Committed, from Huntsville, Alabama, and Street Corner Symphony, from Nashville, Tennessee.

And the winner of 'The Sing-Off' was ...
