Television is getting more Flavor Flav
by Brad Trechak, posted Oct 1st 2009 3:30PM
Flavor of Love, quite possibly the trashiest celebrity hook-up show of all time, is still off the air. However, its star Flavor Flav is returning to television in order to go back to high school. If Flavor Flav really wanted to get his high school diploma, why does he need cameras on him to do it? Can't he just study and take the G.E.D.? What type of high school will he attend, public or private?
If he went to a public school, he'd be mobbed between every class due to his celebrity. Having him go to a private school might be better and would admittedly be funnier, but somehow I question if he could handle the coursework (of course, he has enough money to pay other people to go to class for him).
Somehow I see Flav being more like one of those students that smokes out back and tries to make it with one of the cheerleaders. After Flavor of Love, would you want your daughter to go to the same high school as Flav?
The Reality Shows Have Writers!? Award: Call for Considerations
by Jay Black, posted May 23rd 2008 9:55AM
I'm in Los Angeles right now. From my observations: everyone is perfect looking, the weather is always beautiful, and everyone drives everywhere despite the fact that gas is approximately eleventy billion dollars a gallon and it doesn't appear that anyone is actually, you know, working. LA doesn't exist in any kind of recognizable reality. Let's put it this way: if the guys in Plato's cave were to figure out that the figures being cast onto their walls came from the Sunset Strip, they'd probably opt to stay chained up.It stands to reason, then, that any genre springing to life in such an environment would bear no resemblance to what the rest of the world calls "reality". TV Squad therefore presents its first annual The Reality Shows Have Writers!? Award, recognizing those shows that in no way reflect a life that any human being on the planet is actually living but, for some reason, call themselves "reality shows."

Top seven extenders of reality TV fame
by Kristin Sample, posted Oct 1st 2007 11:02AM
Here are seven people who used their reality TV notoriety to their advantage. They have found success in other TV genres, film, or entrepreneurial pursuits. Some just found more fame in the genre that put them on thee map. 7. Colleen Haskell (Survivor): Colleen was in the first season of Survivor (Borneo) and while she didn't outwit, outplay and outlast the other cast members, she did make a good run of her fifteen minutes. She finished sixth in her season but was such a genuine and fair player that when her torch was extinguished Richard Hatch called her a "wonderful person." Using her American-apple-pie-pretty-girl-next-door appearance and attitude, she parlayed her reality TV fame into more roles in both television and film. She did a Blistex commercial and had a guest spot on That 70's Show. Most notably, however, she starred alongside Rob Schneider in The Animal (2001). Pretty good for a Catholic school girl from a small town in Maryland.
