On 'Flipping Out,' Jeff Lewis Threatens to Kill Himself After Assistant Jenni Makes a Mistake (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Aug 11th 2010 2:05AM
On 'Flipping Out,' Jeff Lewis Threatens to Kill Himself After Assistant Jenni Makes a MistakeWhat constitutes a mistake on the job? How far is too far to go, and what should a boss actually get angry about? This is the topic up for discussion on 'Flipping Out' (Tue., 8PM ET on Bravo).

The series involves the high-pressure world of real estate sales; and so the stakes are high. Jenni forgets a client's phone number, and so Jeff Lewis can't call that client while driving to an appointment. But then, Jeff gets a little too upset about it. Jenni offers the defense that "mistakes happen," and Jeff points out that this is a meaningless thing to say.

In a way, they're both right ... or are both wrong. Jeff is really rude and kind of awful. On the other hand, it is true that "mistakes happen" is a terrible defense. True -- mistakes do happen. But still, that's not a good excuse when you're on the job. Yes, accidents can happen. But it's your job as an employee to make sure that they don't happen.

Still, in the end, Jeff ruins the whole thing by going too far with his anger. He's so mad about Jenni's error that he threatens death. "I'll kill myself," he says. "I'll run this car into a wall -- I'll just end the pain." Whoa! Overreact much, Jeff?

'Flipping Out' - 'Hot Streak, Lots of Baggage' (Season Premiere) Recap

by Allison Waldman, posted Aug 11th 2010 1:15AM
Jeff_Lewis_Jeni_Flipping_out_Bravo_2010(S04E01) When Jeff Lewis referred to the changes in his business early on in the season premiere of 'Flipping Out,' for a while there it seemed like it was all for the better.

After all, the Ryan Brown smoke screen had been lifted -- a Google search snafu that resulted in business never reaching Jeff because it was diverted to Ryan -- and the job offers were up four times what they'd been before. But enough about the work, what about the baby in the office?

Well, it wasn't Jenni and Jeff's. That much hadn't changed. No, it was Jett's. Between the baby -- an occasional visitor -- and the unruly dogs and willful cats, the Jeff Lewis office was more a variation on last season than a real change.

Jeff Lewis Talks Finding Love, Having Babies, Jenni, Zoila & Still 'Flipping Out'

by Maggie Furlong, posted Aug 10th 2010 2:40PM
Jeff Lewis, 'Flipping Out'He's brutally honest, nitpicky to a fault and, oftentimes, straight up insufferable, but I can't get enough of Jeff Lewis.

Bravo's 'Flipping Out' returns for a fourth season (premieres Tues., Aug. 10, 9PM ET), and Lewis is finally embracing the new interior design direction his business has taken in the rough economy. With a restaurant renovation and a trip to New York to design House Beautiful's Kitchen of the Year, you'd think there'd be no time for a personal life, but Lewis tells me that he and Jenni -- now his Chief Operations Officer -- have both found love.

I caught up with the obsessive-compulsive reality star to hear all about their new relationships, what's up with Zoila and the gang, having babies, the Ryan situation and how his series should end.

The Show Girl On 'Glee,' 'Flipping Out,' 'Last Comic' & 'BBQ Pitmasters' (VIDEO)

Heather Morris as Brittany, 'Glee'This week, the show is chock full of song and dance numbers and a few laughs, all smothered in barbecue sauce and served up hot.

Love Brittany on 'Glee'? So do the show's creators -- they even compare her skills to one of the most famous actresses in the world. And is it really a great day at Jeff Lewis' office? The OCD man behind the interior design empire gives me the scoop on the new season of 'Flipping Out' and America's favorite housekeeper Zoila.

I also get a preview of the big 'Last Comic Standing' finale from judge and comedienne Natasha Leggero, and get the skinny on new 'BBQ Pitmasters' judges Warren Sapp and Art Smith from the master himself, Myron Mixon.

Bethenny Frankel Gets Her Own Show

by Chris Jordan, posted Jan 11th 2010 11:45AM
Bethenny Frankel appears to have it all: fame, fortune, Skinnygirl Margaritas -- everything, that is, except for her own reality series.

Until now.

Frankel, one of the breakout stars of Bravo's 'Real Housewives of New York,' is set to star in her own series called 'Bethenny's Getting Married?', which will presumably follow Frankel's engagement to Jason Hoppy, according to E! (yes, the question mark is intentional).

Taylor Jacobson Leaving Rachel Zoe: Who Should Replace Her?

by Rebecca Paiement, posted Nov 9th 2009 1:00PM
Taylor JacobsonIf and when the 'Rachel Zoe Project' resumes on Bravo, it will have to be without assistant Taylor Jacobson.

PEOPLE is reporting that Zoe has fired Jacobson, effective immediately. Zoe's rep, Carrie Gordon, has since confirmed the news.

Why Jacobson was let go remains to be seen, although, given how often she complained about her job on the show, many would say she had it coming.

Still, Jacobson insists that the decision was solely her own. Hoping to begin her own fashion styling business, Jacobson's Twitter account and emails to colleagues, leaked to Fashionista, reflect her enthusiasm to get out on her own. "I am saddened and exhilarated at the same time to announce my departure," she wrote. "After much thought and consideration, I have decided to take the challenging leap and go off and style on my own."

Bravo boosts Mercy with Saturday marathon

by Allison Waldman, posted Nov 2nd 2009 2:04PM
nbc_mercyA funny thing happened when I turned on Bravo over the weekend. Instead of an avalanche of Flipping Out flip outs or Real Houswives' table-flipping or Tabitha's disgusting beauty salons, there was drama on the cable net. Bravo aired NBC's medical drama Mercy on Saturday morning.

On Saturday morning there really wasn't a lot going up against Mercy. In fact, it had the field pretty much to itself for any viewers looking for a quality, fresh TV show.

I say fresh because unlike the reruns of House or NCIS on USA, I hadn't seen these episodes of Mercy. So, rather than watch infomercials or pre-game college football chatter or animated cartoons, I watched Mercy.

Flipping Out's Jeff Lewis: An interview with Bravo's OCD realtor

by Allison Waldman, posted Oct 20th 2009 11:02AM
Flipping_Out_Jeff_LewisBravo's resident house flipper, real estate guru and OCD interior designer, Jeff Lewis, is a very complicated guy. When I spoke to him recently, I was actually a little concerned. If you've seen Jeff on Bravo's Flipping Out, you've seen him lose it on occasion. Would he yell at me on the phone if I asked the wrong question?

In fact, Jeff Lewis was extremely friendly and funny. We had a great talk and he couldn't have been nicer. He was also really forthcoming about the past seasons of Flipping Out, including this one that's concluding tonight.

What has it been like to be turned into a reality TV star?
Because of the reaction of the show, some people see me as a villain and that could be the way I do business. I handle my employees in a rather non-traditional way. I was concerned about how people would react in public, but it's actually been pretty positive. Overall, it's been a very positive experience. Many people are very nice and complimentary and supportive.

Ratings boom for Bravo's Flipping Out

by Allison Waldman, posted Aug 20th 2009 8:02AM
jeff_lewis_bravo_flipping_outLast night, everybody's favorite obsessive compulsive decorator and house flipper, Jeff Lewis, was back on Bravo, and the ratings for Flipping Out were through the roof. The Season Three premiere was the highest ever for the reality show, up 53 percent from last season's opener.

More important than the numbers, though, was the show itself. If you want to see how the recession has hit the real estate business, check out this show. Instead of flipping million dollar homes in Southern California, Jeff is now reduced to taking renovation jobs and working for other people. He's not used to having to work for others, but it's great to see it happen.
