Jeff Lewis Catches Trace in a Lie on the 'Flipping Out' Reunion (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 14th 2011 3:32AM
'Flipping Out'Even though they were fired during the regular season run of 'Flipping Out' (Tue., 9PM ET on Bravo). Sarah and Trace were brought back for the reunion. But if Trace thought he was going to be able to air any grievances he has toward Jeff Lewis, he was mistaken.

Instead, Jeff immediately called him out on a lie and then went to town. Andy Cohen asked if Trace was in touch with any of his former clients from when he worked for Jeff. Doing so would put him in breach of contract.

When Trace said no, Jeff called him on the lie immediately, citing a client by name he'd been in contact with multiple times. With the camera on Trace's face, we could see the wheels spinning as he tried to come up with a way to talk his way out of the lie, but it ultimately didn't work.

Jenni Must Decide to Either Move On or Go Full Time on 'Flipping Out' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 7th 2011 6:40AM
Jenni Pulos, 'Flipping Out'Jeff Lewis is not an easy man to work for, but one woman has managed to do it better than any other. And yet, Jenni Pulos has been reluctant to work full-time for him because she wants to keep alive her dream of acting. But this week on 'Flipping Out' (Tue., 9PM ET on Bravo), Lewis basically gave her an ultimatum.

He offered her a full-time position, heavily implying that she would not be able to continue working for him in her current capacity. It was all or nothing.

"I'm gonna want health insurance and I'm gonna want to not be timed when I go to the bathroom and I'm gonna want I think a little bit more respect," she said. "Is that possible?"

Jeff Butts Heads With His Contractor on 'Flipping Out' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 24th 2011 10:15AM
Jeff Lewis, 'Flipping Out'It was a clash of egos on 'Flipping Out' (Tue., 9PM ET on Bravo) between Jeff Lewis and his contractor Randy. Jeff was put in charge of the construction project, but Randy is used to being in charge, so he refused to see Jeff as his superior.

Apparently, it was a blow to his ego to acknowledge anyone as his boss. What's surprising about his attitude was that he'd already asked to be paid in advance because he's behind on his mortgage.

You'd think at this point you could swallow your pride a little bit, but no. Mixed in with that pride was embarrassment that Jeff knew about his personal financial struggles.

Jeff Jumps to Jenni's Defense Against a Mean Client on 'Flipping Out' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 17th 2011 3:12AM
'Flipping Out'Jeff Lewis is notorious for losing his cool and yelling on 'Flipping Out' (Tue., 9PM ET on Bravo). Oftentimes, his outbursts can make us uncomfortable, but we applauded him in this week's installment.

Stacey was a client with a mean-spirited streak that seemed to have no foundation. Particularly in her treatment of Jeff's assistant, Jenny. She was arrogant and entitled, and even refused to call Jenny by her name, instead calling her different things as if Jenny wasn't worth the time or effort to actually learn her name.

She tried to reassert herself after Jeff laid into her a little bit, but he wasn't having any of that. "Fortunately, I have other clients," he told her. "So I can say I'm done when I say I'm done. This is Jenny, by the way."

Jeff is Faced With a Tough Decision on 'Flipping Out' (VIDEO)

Flipping Out Trace firedBetrayal is always a bitter pill to swallow, but it hurts far more when it comes from the people we trust the most, as Jeff found out on this week's 'Flipping Out' (Tue., 9PM ET on Bravo).

When it seemed as though Trace wasn't taking the job as seriously as he used to, Jeff took it upon himself to check his employee's computer, and he didn't like what he found there.

Jeff Lewis Has to Let His Sister-in-Law Go on 'Flipping Out' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 3rd 2011 10:25AM
Sarah Berkman, 'Flipping Out'It's always difficult mixing business with family, but Jeff Lewis was excited to bring on his sister-in-law Sarah Berkman on 'Flipping Out' (Tue., 9PM ET on Bravo). However, after two years it's proving to not be a great fit for either of them.

It didn't help that Lewis' boyfriend was urging him to let Berkman go. While she doesn't prove to be grossly incompetent at her job, she remains inadequate in a myriad of little ways regularly enough that it just isn't acceptable after all that time.

"I sense that you've been unhappy and stressed, and I know that you go home sometimes really upset," Lewis told Berkman. "And I think it's created a strain on the family."

Jeff Lewis Throws Sarah a Wild Bachelorette Party on 'Flipping Out' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 27th 2011 6:00PM
A bachelorette party on 'Flipping Out'Sarah Berkman was thrilled with the bachelorette party Jeff Lewis threw for her in Las Vegas on 'Flipping Out' (Tuesdays, 9PM on Bravo). But not everyone was looking forward to it with the same amount of enthusiasm. Trace James Lehnhoff and Gage Edward had their reservations, and didn't look terribly comfortable in the strip club.

"We were sort of like eagerly anticipating, you know, what kind of girls are going to come out and freak on our laps," said Berkman. Lewis thought Berkman enjoyed herself perhaps a little too much. "I think Sarah actually preferred the female strippers," he said. "I mean, she might want to reconsider this marriage."

Jeff Lewis Critiques Natalie Morales's and Savannah Guthrie's Clashing Patterns (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 13th 2011 4:35PM
Natalie Morales and Savannah Guthrie with Jeff Lewis of 'Flipping Out' on 'Today' Jeff Lewis decorates homes with an eye toward reselling on Bravo's 'Flipping Out.' Wednesday on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC), Natalie Morales and Savannah Guthrie asked Lewis to critique how well their dresses matched, and the three of them took turns taking joking offense at each other.

Lewis said he was upset at Morales for not watching the last season of 'Flipping Out,' noting that some critics have called his show "the best show you're not watching." "Just because I haven't been returning your phone calls doesn't mean you can't watch," he said.

Then Guthrie asked Lewis to put his fashion sense to use, asking him if two print dresses together on one couch offended his "obsessive-compulsive eye." "I actually don't mind mixing patterns, there's a lot going on here," he told them. If Morales lost the yellow sweater, he thought it might work better. "You've got a great bra on today, by the way," he said to her. "You look great."

Jeff Lewis Flips Out When Two Members of His Staff Are Late to Work (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 13th 2011 1:50AM
Jeff Lewis, 'Flipping Out'When they came up with the title for 'Flipping Out' (Tue., 9PM ET on Bravo), it was a play on words for Jeff Lewis's house-flipping projects, which dominated the first season. It also may have been a reflection on his volatile personality.

As the show has shifted more toward his design work, the title is mostly now about his breakdowns. This week, his pot began to boil when Zoila arrived late for work, and failed to get the mail.

He screamed at her, ignoring her excuses about traffic. "Let me explain LA. There's traffic every f****** day of the week!"

Jeff Lewis Is Not a Fan of the Kinder, Gentler Perez Hilton (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 5th 2011 5:45PM
Jeff Lewis and Perez Hilton on 'The Talk'Jeff Lewis, the star of Bravo's reality series 'Flipping Out,' is an outspoken human drama machine. So it wasn't exactly surprising Tuesday on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated) when he told celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton that he had become too nice and needed to get back to ripping and doodling on celebs.

Lewis is not a fan of the kinder, gentler Perez, who changed his site's tone after being publicly pressured by Ellen Degeneres. "You're much more complimentary now, you're less mean-spirited, and you're a little ... you're less snarky," said Lewis. "I like the old you."

Lewis asked Hilton if he could "do another blog for people like me? Because there's a lot of us." Hilton responded that he enjoyed being more positive, and Lewis said that was fine, but some celebrities "act like jerks" and deserve Hilton's snarky comeuppance.

Jeff Gives a Nervous Impromptu Speech to Magazine Honchos on 'Flipping Out' (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Sep 8th 2010 8:17AM
Jeff Lewis Gives Impromptu Speech on 'Flipping Out'The 'House Beautiful' editor-in-chief has a surprise for Jeff Lewis, and it's a really stressful one. On 'Flipping Out' (Wed., 9PM ET on BRAVO), Lewis' executive assistant Jenni Pulos likens it to pop quizzes from school days: "All of a sudden our teacher -- or the editor-in-chief -- said, 'Oh by the way, there's a meeting with 45 people.'"

Lewis later explains: "I had no idea I had to even give some sort of talk, speech, introduction" -- and to a bunch of suits. "I was afraid of cussing or saying something inappropriate and alienating, like, a really big sponsor," says Lewis, who designs the magazine's Kitchen of the Year.

The designer does begin his talk/speech/introduction rather nervously, with a bit of stuttering and deer-in-headlights expressions. But he pulls it together with a joke about his housekeeper Zoila Chavez.

A Client Secretly Fires Jeff Lewis on 'Flipping Out' (VIDEO)

Client Secretly Fires Jeff Lewis on 'Flipping Out'Jenni Pulos has some bad scoop for her boss on 'Flipping Out' (Tue., 9PM ET on BRAVO): He's been fired. A client's friend tells her that he fired Jeff Lewis and replaced him with a competitor -- all news to Jeff.

"I don't even know what I did wrong, because he wouldn't return my calls," says Jeff. "At least have the balls to say what you're doing, don't just disappear ... Break off with me over an email -- I'm fine with that. Text me, ya know?"

Just as he's beginning to sound like a spurned lover, Jenni goes one step further, explaining the circumstances using a dating analogy, complete with a diamond ring.

A 'Flipping Out' Lunchtime Topic: Collecting Employees' Pee (VIDEO)

Jeff Lewis Wants Employees' Pee on 'Flipping Out'The latest issue for Jeff Lewis on 'Flipping Out' (Tue., 9PM ET on BRAVO) involves urine. Coyotes have been killing pets near his property, and apparently pee will keep them away. And just any pee -- he divulges during a staff lunch.

His solution? "You and I and Trace -- we start urinating into some sort of plastic container, and we pour that behind the garage," says Lewis. "And save me the money from buying the [animal urine]. The other stuff's illegal anyway -- and it's expensive."

Jenni Makes Another Mistake, Jeff Rants and Insults Her on 'Flipping Out' (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Aug 18th 2010 4:30AM
Jeff Calls Jenny a Stooge on 'Flipping Out'On 'Flipping Out' (Tue., 9PM ET on BRAVO), Jeff Lewis and Jenni Pulos show up at one of his pre-flipped properties to discover... no one. Luis and his construction crew are supposed to be working there.

"He told me he was going to be here," insists Jenni. As far as Jeff is concerned, Jenni has made yet another mistake, which causes the real estate investor to conduct some "flipping out" of his own.

First he says the executive assistant (now COO?) is "too nice to people" and blames her for not calling Luis before the site visit. "Inefficient office -- I'm sick of this [beep]!" yells Jeff. "No wonder I get nothing done all day long. You see why we can't manage more than five projects? 'Cause I got The Three [beep] Stooges working for me, that's why."

He's still ranting in the car, telling her that from now on, "there's no more margin for error, no more mistakes." That's quite a tall order.
