Going into tonight's finale, it was Susie Jiminez, Jeff Mauro and Vic Moea vying to be the next 'Food Network Star' (Sun., 9PM ET on Food). As part of the finale, the top two finalists would actually film the pilots for their proposed new shows on Food Network.!!SPOILER ALERT!!
First, there was a camera challenge that had them preparing their favorite dishes and presenting them. It was after this round that Vic was eliminated, leaving Susie and Jeff to film their pilots and convince the Food Network they could be the next big thing.
To help in the decision-making process, all the eliminated contestants came back to serve as a focus group for the pilots as well. Susie offered up an installment of her modern Mexican dream show 'Spice It Up,' while Jeff stuck with his passion and 'Sandwich King.'

To make it into the final four, the remaining contestants had to make it through a comedy round on 'Food Network Star' (Sun., 9PM ET on Food). They didn't have to tell jokes, even though that's what Jeff used to do for a living. He even gave the celebrity comedians a sampling of his comedy stylings."I would give you a cooking show just to make sure you never did stand-up again," Gilbert Gottfried told him after a joke fell very flat with the panel.
Even though his comedy didn't go over well, they did like his Italian roast beef sandwich, and his presence. When asked if they'd watch a cooking show about sandwiches, Louie Anderson said, "I'd watch him."

Jill got schooled by the master -- Wolfgang Puck -- on this week's episode of 'Food Network Star' (Sun., 9PM on FOOD)."This is not really a risotto," Puck exclaimed after tasting Jyll's latest dish during the episode, 'Dinner Party for Wolfgang Puck.' Puck made good on his promise to teach Jill how to make a "real risotto" by escorting her to the kitchen and showing her how to properly prepare the dish, step-by-step.

The contestants on 'Food Network Star' (Sun., 9PM ET on Food) got to visit the set of 'Cougar Town,' where they were given the challenge of cooking for various members of the show's staff. Three of them (Susie, Justin D. and Whitney) cooked for the cast, where we learned that Busy Philipps has a pretty discerning palette.!!SPOILER ALERT!!
When it came time for their critiques, the best they could muster up about Justin D. seemed to be support for his glasses. "He's got that sexy Harry Potter chef thing going on," Brian Van Holt said.
There were several problems with Whitney's dish. Paula Deen was on-hand as well, and she said, "it was just like a vegetable dish. It bored me out of my gourd."

!!SPOILER ALERT!!
