As Barbara Walters prepares to show viewers her annual list of the 10 Most Fascinating People of the Year (pictured, featuring Lady Gaga and Walters) in a special airing tonight, we realized that TV gives far too much airtime to people at the other end of the spectrum. With that thought, here are the year's 10 least fascinating people on TV. Just as one broadcasting legend faces his slow downfall, this week also marked the triumphant return of another to the airwaves.

Don Imus, MSNBC's former morning show man who was ousted from his TV and radio time slots for racially charged comments he made about the Rutgers' women's basketball team, returned to TV on Monday on the Fox Business Channel.

The morning shock jock wasted no time at his new home by getting back to his old tricks, lambasting everyone in the biz from David Letterman to his new co-worker Glenn Beck. And the move seems to be paying off since Fox Business scored their biggest ratings hit since ... well, ever.

After NBC refused to say during the upfronts whether or not they're going to renew the show or not (probably keeping it in reserve for midseason if they need another edition to fill in a time slot), the Donald decided to quit, to pre-empt any sort of "firing" that NBC could do. But not so fast...

NBC says that Trump is still under contract to do another season of the show, and that "no decision on an additional cycle [of the series] at this time."

Trump says he's moving on to a bigger project, perhaps with the new Fox Business Channel. My guess is that he'll do another season of the show instead of fighting, if only for the reason it will make sure he's on TV every week in some way.

Joel Cheatwood, who helped develop programming at Headline News such as Showbiz Tonight and Glenn Beck and oversaw CNN's highest-rated series, Nancy Grace, is heading to Fox News to develop programming for both the news network and the upcoming Fox Business Channel.

According to Variety, Cheatwood has been tapped for Fox News because of his "tabloid sensibility" that he developed while working on local news in Miami, where he often led with crime stories in order to grab the attention of viewers. According to Cheatwood, news can be both "top-notch" and "fun to watch." Cheatwood used that approach to revamp Headline News, and hopes to do the same when Fox Business Channel launches.
